Milam, henceforth referred to as the Captain, appears to be righting the ship.

However, it's still unknown whether that ship is the SS Minnow or the USS Enterprise.

Nonetheless, this ship analogy does beg the question....Ginger or Mary Ann?

I will stick with my preseason prediction that Boyd will be in the playoffs.

The Great Karnack says, U.S.S Minnow, Mary Ann and No!

and the evelope:
1. What ship is Milam "righting", USS Minnow or the US Enterprise?

2. Who do you prefer, Mary Ann or Ginger?

3. Will Boyd make the playoffs?
I have been reading for a long time and never posted, but felt compelled to tell you about a talent I saw last night. JV game MHS vs Lake Dallas; A pitcher real tall (I heard 6.6) pretty well shut out McKinney. McKinney got one run and that was on an error. He had a wicked curve ball and lots of movement on the ball. I believe this young man is an up and comming for LD.

Always for the underdog!

Well......... No comment.
Thanks for your vote of confidence FO But...

I don't even know this kid, I went to a game saw a 6.6 LHP pitch a great game, thought I would mention it. Now thanks to me this lad has a negative mark, when I was just trying to point out what I thought to be a talent.

These young hard working kids don't deserve it, and I won't let it happen again.
underdog,

If your from the Lake Dallas area and have been lurking on this site for awhile you may or may not know who I am.

In no way does this kid have a "negative mark" on him because of you.
I will go out on a limb and say Bring it was just trying to be funny and did not mean anything negative about the young man. Sometimes, myself included, we can be smarta** comedians and it adds nothing to the topic.

Like FO and RPD said, welcome and hang around, don't let off the wall remarks offend you. They fly around here like gnats.

As for the pitcher your talking about, I believe I know who he is and he does have some very good upside to him.

Again welcome and feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Perhaps it's as simple as....he's a very good JV pitcher. Cool

PD, looks like I wasn't the only one who had fun with underdog.

Underdog, I was making fun of you, not the pitcher. McKinney stud Adam MIller had plenty of JV time his sophamore year....and I believe only a .500 record. I might disrespect adults on here, but you can search all my post and I challenge you to find one negative comment about an individual kid.

OP, why haven't you joined the dog pile on me? Big Grin
My son was a varsity player as a freshman.

There was a 6'4" 160 lb. sophomore pitcher ahead of him that he had competed against regularly in the summer leagues when they were younger.

The sophomore pitcher didn't play varsity.

Trying to remember correctly, but I don't think he pitched varsity as a junior either.

I don't remember all of the coaching and newspaper superlatives that he got as as senior.

I know that he had more than 100 K's that year.

I know that he was drafted #31 in the country in 2003, signed for about $1.1 million and now Adam Miller is considered the #1 Cleveland pitching prospect and is frequently in the top ten MLB pitching prospects.

Good luck to the young 6'6" lefty..............
MHS and North are leading the district with 9-2 records. After that it gets pretty interesting. With 3 games left there are 4 teams fighting for the final playoff spot.

TEAM.......(record)...REMAINING GAMES
Frisco.........6-5)......Boyd, North, Lake Dallas
Centennial..(6-5).....Little Elm, Colony, McKinney
Boyd..........(5-6).....Frisco, Little Elm, Colony
The Colony..(5-6).....McKinney, Centennial, Boyd

OP, thanks for the great job you do on your website.

RPD.....It's a lot of fun doing the web site. Thanks for the "thanks"!

Here's my guess on how things will finish up for the playoffs in 9-4A:

North and McKinney tie for first @ 12-2, have a one game playoff for the #1 seed, just like last year.

Centennial and Boyd will finish at 8-6 and have a one game playoff for the # 3 seed. Both teams trying to make the playoffs for the first time in school history. What a battle that will be.

Frisco misses out at 7-7.

#1 Seed: McKinney North
#2 Seed: McKinney
#3 Seed: Frisco Centennial

OP,
I see you have North #1, that's cocky and bold.

Just a prediction is all. You wouldn't expect me to predict anything other than us #1 would you? Early on, I honestly didn't think we would be in the position we are in right now. Things could definitely change. Like I said, just a prediction is all. You should be glad. I'm giving you plenty of bulliten board material. Big Grin

(4) I predict the district race will not be decided until the last week of the season....as always.

Ball4TX........

You were right!! I got this off your post back in February about the 9-4A district race!

We have a BIG game Tuesday against Frisco. They beat us last time in 8 innings 2-1, and I expect this game to go down to the wire again. They have Rutledge pitching and he is TOUGH to beat. I'm just glad we're playing at our place! Hopefully we can pull it out.

Robert S,: So what the H@#& happened last night and how did you guys lose to Lake Dallas? There must have been something in the water up there in McKinney. Us Titans were hoping you guys would take Friday night off against us but NOOOOO you guys go and lose to Lake Dallas and now have to play hard on Friday. Good Luck, it usually is a good game between McKinney vs Centennial. At least I hope it will be!
