Flipside of this is that adults who could be claimed as dependents can get the last couple stimulus' directly if they file without being dependents, and you (as the parent) don't lose out on any stimulus money you've already received for them. Given my older two were still technically on the payroll for 2020, but both had jobs of their own, it turned out to net out better if I didn't claim them as dependents and let them get their own stimulus funds to help pay for college directly.  Should also result in them both getting the current stimulus directly as well, but obviously check your own situation as appropriate with regards to ages/earnings/etc.
