Any team that can sweep Rowlett- can play with anybody. I thought Rowlett was the best team in Region 2. And I agree with Ringer. The winner of this series will win it all. You gotta like the Wolves' chances of winning any Game 1 with Flora. And you gotta like the Wolves' chances of outscoring anybody in a Game 3. This should be an awesome series to watch. Good luck to West, as the metroplex teams at the 4A and 5A levels took a big hit in Round 4. Congrats to Coach Boxley at Forney and Coach Carmon at Rowlett on solid seasons.

If the Plano coach is like our's he will probably wait to see who their throwing and throw his ace the next game. Anything can happen in game 3

So guys -- if you're coaching the Wolves, do you match up Flora and Jungmann? Or do you throw someone like Blumm in game 1 and take your chances in three?

It will be a tall task to score runs on Jungmann but PW would be the team that could do it.

Jungmanns record before this season was in 2A, huge difference However, His record this year is very impressive.

If it were me I would save Flora for game 2.

Any pun intended there nortexbaseball? Smile Jungmann is a tall young man. Yes he was playing 2A baseball prior to coming over to Georgetown, but he was good on the summer circuit and is obviously legitimate for what he has done this year. Should be an outstanding series, as should the FM-SLC series.

Dillon...A little pun on his height (not talent). It has been alluded to before on this site; it is exciting to watch these kids progress through each year. From the age of 10-15 (before he became so tall) Jungmann was one of the top SS/ hitters in the region, on top of being one of the best pitchers.

BTW… I think SLC and PW will win their series.

My last comment for discussion. I have seen these guys play all year and watched all 3 games of PW v. CP last week. The pitching that PW has is typical of what Georgetown faces every night in their district. I dont think PW has seen the caliber of pitching they are about to face. Again, I think its going to be a great high school series and I hope both teams play well. Its fun talking about all this and I want game one to hurry up and start!
Beast - Yes, they did lose 3 games in district. Our district is very tough, but there are a lot of tough districts out there. I guess the reason that I feel good about tonite and the series is all the tough teams weve beaten...Atascocita, Klein Collins 3 times, Kingwood, CC Moody, Cy Fair and then our playoff run - Collins, Klein and Rowlett. Its going to be fun.
I'm pulling for West, as the metroplex needs a representative at the State Tourney that can compete a little bit down there for a change in 5A.

And yes, Andrew Blum is the real deal for a 16 year old...there's no question to that. (Great kid too!). But, Georgetown has a LHP going to Texas and a RHP going to TCU left to start games 2 & 3. That's pretty tough if you ask me...

Don't let the rest of the GT staff scare you. When Rowlett played them the lefty was having some control issues that were continuing from previous weeks. The righty can be beaten. The key is the defense. GT has a very underrated defense. I remaining game(s) are really too close to call.

I think there is a rule somewhere that proclaims Southlake has to win a state title in something every year. So with this mindset, they (Carroll) might have something to say about competing and representing in 5A. Wink

Go North Texas!

Ringer,
That rest of the staff that doesnt scare you has had a phenominal season. Miller shutout Klein two weeks ago and they are better than West at the plate. He did not have good stuff against Rowlett. McKirahan has not had control issues - not sure of your source on that one. He had control issues last week. Georgetown is in great shape with several really good arms left. And all that discussion about the Eagles not being abel to hit - 13 hits last night. ITs a good start

OE,

All I can tell you is what I heard prior to game two of our series. What I heard and what I saw were the same.

By the way, I didn't know the lefties name and wouldn't have posted it if I did. But in regards to him, we had heard he had control issues the week before and when he came in he did not have the control the starter had. I never said he wasn't a good pitcher. It just wasn't his day.

Other than Jungmann, Rowlett saw pitchers like yours up here all year long. Our bats just didn't come around on that day. That's baseball. I would guess PW has probably seen just as good of pitching in their district as well. We actually played two of the teams in their district so I know they did. So don't under estimate the Wolves.

With that being said I'm going to pick..... Confused
