Im only a freshman but Ive been involved for years with guys who have been recruited. One way to get recruited is going to the camps or workouts. There is usually a good amount of scouts present.
Also I had close friends who personally contacted a scout(did research abut regional scouts online and found him)and that put there name out there.

Hopefully I will be going through this in 2 years
i am currently being recruited by some top d1 schools. im a junior right now, so they just send information on the schools and their programs and things like that. i went to a perfect game showcase when i was a sophomore. i am now going to each of the schools baseball camps. those are probably the 2 best ways to get seen. go to the camps so they know you, and see you play.
When are the camps?

well the camps are sometime around december or january usually. i went to the arizona state camp this past weekend, clemson's camp was the 4th, i know UGA's camp was this past weekend. im also going to south carolinas camp which is jan 18, and GTs camp is the 17th. you usually learn about the program, hit, catch bullpens, do catcher drills. sometimes they will tape you doing drills. it all depends on the specific camp and where you are at.
If you are a stud, you will be found. If you are not a stud like most of the world, you usually have to come into contact with them first. Send letters and emails to the coaches at colleges that you are interested in, include past coaches phone #'s or emails as well as those of any scouts that you know that seen you play.

The camps are a great idea as well, as well as showcases. If you get into contact with a coach let him know what showcase you were at and how you did (be honest!)

Ryno and futurecatcher,
I am also from OK. You guys may want to check out http://www.coachesaid.com for a forum with only Oklahoma highschool bballers. They will sometimes post showcases and tryouts that are going on in OK. Also you may want to look into the Sunbelt classic(though it can be pricey), I went to it last year and ended up getting invites to other showcases and letters from colleges. Also a teammate of mine went to OU's fall camp and they had never even heard about him but he ended up signing with them the next week. Hope this helps!
Well, coaches look for the five tools of a good prospect. Not sure of the order, but if you are exceptional at these things, you will be recognized...

1.) Throwing Arm
2.) Power at the plate
3.) Speed
4.) Hitting Ability
5.) Fielding Ability

Scouts judge players on these categories. When you go to some camps, they'll probably have you run a 60 yard dash. Always make sure you're in shape before going to a camp, and also note that speed is a big thing that scouts look for. If you aren't fast, you'd better be strong.
Well How i got recruited or looked at i basically went to a showcase and i mean when your there just work your butt off i mean sprint every where show u got heart and everything play like your life is on the line basically and then before you know it you get calls you take visits and all of a sudden your signed. It went by fast and i ended up getting signed by western illinois. Good luck hope it helps.
I went to a lot of showcases and emailed coaches. Also, try filling out the recruit forms on college websites, sometimes they get back to you. I ended up getting recruited at a prospect camp for USF, as a pitcher. My high school stats and credentials dont match up to most D-1 athletes, but if this is the case for you dont give up, as long as you have the ability there will be a spot for you.
