My 16 year old son was looking forward to a great Jr season this spring. Unfortunately (fortunatly in some ways) he was expelled from school. My question is this - for consideration for college and baseball - is he better off repeating Jr. year to a better result academically and athletically, or staying on grade, missing his JR year, makinf the most out of summer ball and Legion?

Thanks for all knowledgeable, wise, and experienced replys.

...don't know what the rules are that are enforced by your controlling body. Here in Florida, there's a max 4-year eligibility that begins at the onset of 9th grade. Some cases are considered for extenuating circumstances. You need to look into that aspect of it.

Sorry for the dissappointment, but wish for you a great life lesson on the part of your son. How he handles it will make all the difference from this point forward in his life.

Two quotes that are favorites of mine...

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up."
Vince Lombardi

"My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure."
Abraham Lincoln

All the best to your son.
He was a JR at James River - predicted win the District this year. He was the #2 arm and probably the 4-5 bat and 3B.

He is looking to playing with a home school team (that has a better coach than JR!)they play against the private schools in the area.

I will take you up on your suggestion. Actually I may have father in-law (VT 59) take some action there.

Thanks!
