Recently we had to do a resume for my son for college press releases. After it was completed I was wondering whether a resume could have been sent along with the questionaire from schools (or would just a resume been enough). Sure helps cut down on answering all of those questions that always seem to be the same for every school. I was wondering if anyone has any imput on this for anyone who is going through the process.

We sent a letter of introduction to schools along with a resume. After the schools received that they wrote back and sent a questionaire to be returned.

Yes, you are correct they seem to ask for the same information. Our son just filled them out and mailed them back with any additional requests, such as a schedule or a video.

Best of luck to you.

Your son should complete the questionaire no matter how mant times they send it and even if you include a resume.. Schools often mark the questioniares in their own code (don't try to figure it out, they are all different) and the do track some of the questionaires they send out to see if the get a response.. It is suggested that you make a copy of your replies the first time a school send one to you, you do't want to accidently put down different info on the second one, they sometimes will compare.. The filling out of questionaires is tedious but a necessity.. We always include my sons printed profile along with the questionaire as it was more detailed.

Penrod,
I have gone through this process, if you look carefully you will read my last sentence which states "I was wondering if anyone has any imput on this for anyone who is just going through the process". I already did what I had to do, aren't we here to help others? I have only declared once where my son was going, it's been posted by others.
Thanks Justmom. Someone asked me if my son ever sent a resume to any of the schools, he never did. Your explanation will certainly help others.

Well here is my thought on a resume. My oldest was a swimmer. He wasn't getting alot of interest. So we sent out a fancy letter along with a resume that included his swimming accomplishments along with other things at school and the community. Schools would send him a questionnaire if they were interested and it went on from there. My baseball player son had schools contacting him with a questionnaire so the resume wasn't as impt of a factor. I would think that a baseball player who is not getting letters, contacts from schools would find a resume as a great selling tool. It is like going out to buy a car. The sales brouchure is just an invitation to learn more about the car. A baseball resume would be the same an invitation to learn more about the player!
