Tom Dorminy,
I have removed references to a specific player's stats and city in several posts. I appreciate that you started an interesting thread and that you did not mention a player's name, but a concerned member felt that those references might accuse a specific player, and we try to avoid that in our forums.
Please feel free to contact me offline if you have any questions (PM or hsbaseballweb@comcast.net). Again, I do appreciate that you started an interesting thread, and I'm not accusing you of intending harm to any player.
Thank you,
Julie

What's the difference whether a bat is broken in by rolling or batting practice? It's still a hot bat- it exceeds the BESR. Is it OK, to you, for players to use hot bats? Why do kids spend weeks or months 'breaking them in' before they use them in games?
Not sure what shooting anyone in the head has to do with it.
I'm with AntzDad....rolling does the same thing as BP, hitting the bat against a tree, or hitting it with a rubber mallet.
Its the leagues' fault and manufacturers' fault for allowing and making bats that can exceed the BESR when broken in (either by rolling or just by hitting a bunch of baseballs).

Using that logic, can't you say steriods do the same as lifting weights? It's rule/law issue...it requires no judgement. It's against the rule/law.
What about your new glove? You can only break it in by having a catch with it? No oil? No shoelaces tied around it?
Now you're mixing fruits and nuts. There's no rule or law on that so you can break in your glove as you see fit. Bats, different matter since there's a rule.

No, that is incorrect. Steroids do not do the same thing as lifting weights. You need to combine the two to get the desired effect. If you take steroids and don't lift, you will just get fat.
Rolling does the exact same thing as allot of BP.
Why is there a debate on something that has been deemed dangerous and illegal? College just banned composite bats. High School won't be far behind.

I hope so. I also hope Youth leagues follow this as well. I think a composite (rolled or broken in with BP) is far more dangerous on the little field. Especially when you have a 6' 200 lb kid hitting a 70 mph pitch back at a pitcher 46" away.
Brocky,
OK, seriously, just stop. You are just gonna PI$$ everyone off here in this community and it's a pretty well connected one.
Again, pulling up old posts to use as an opportunity to promote and place a link to your own bat rolling company is sorta frowned upon here. Do it the right way... get in touch with the powers that be and run an ad. If you want to respond to current posts about bat rolling, that's one thing but...
