Kirk-

Would love to join you down there! You're correct, there is going to be some outstanding high school baseball played there this weekend! But...prior obligations in the western part of north-central Texas, close to the Red River will prevent that...and it's something we've been looking forward to for a long time!

Good luck to the Rowlett Eagles & the Plano West Wolves! Please win!

PS...aren't both Georgetown and Rowlett the Eagles? and aren't both Plano West and Cedar Park the Wolves?

emerson1 is correct- records do not mean squat in high school baseball playoffs

everyone who has seen plano west knows that they are a dang good team but they are NOT the nationally ranked power house everyone makes them out to be. 17 of their wins have been within 3 runs or less (7 1-run games). Turn around half of those wins and you wont see their name in any national rankings.

Top team in the nation doesn't squeak by a South Garland/Rockwall team..

Plano West is good, not amazing. Dont be surprised if they get swept
Hmmm...it's interesting to read various comments about Plano West:

"Plano West has had many weak opponents."

"Plano's ride comes to an end this weekend."

"I don't think Plano's pitching can match up to CP's"

"...they are NOT the nationally ranked power house everyone makes them out to be."

"Plano West is good, not amazing. Don't be surprised if they get swept."

Reminds me of the comments I've been hearing all season about my son's team here in San Antonio. Naysayers are a dime a dozen and I would imagine that there are more than a few harboring bits of jealousy.

I have not seen Plano West play so I can't objectively comment. However, a win is a win is a win, whether it is by 1 run or 20. No matter how you slice it, the number of wins that PW has accumulated is amazing. You don't make it to Round 4 playoffs by being just "good."

Well Outis they didnt turn around half of those wins which is why they are undefeated.

Give credit where its due, Plano West has a great team and I personally know over half the team and they are great baseball players, and even better friends.

I dont know anything about there opponents, but Im bettin on West.
Yea
Put them in 14-5a!
I think this is just jealousy or hatred. I guess they must be one hell of a bad team to have no losses. You can't blame them for beating every team they faced...can you?

That team has no problem letting their game do the talking as well as their chatter backing it up.
The playoffs is just a weeding out process and the team with the most talent will win.
I don't think those seniors will let this series get away. Refer to Harrison Holmes game winning hit against Rockwall.

Jesuitbaseball... I'm pretty sure I gave credit where its due. I know Plano West is a great team. And I'm glad you know them, good for you. But what I'm trying to say is that their Almighty National Ranking is because of there record, (which is awesome) but means nothing. Not many people can say they went undefeated in the regular season, I'll admit it. Bottom line- I wouldn't jump on the Plano West wagon just because they don't have a loss. Those Houston and Central Texas teams won't give a darn, and they've definitely proved it in the past.

fixin to head out for Waco. Can't wait to watch Rowlett vs. Georgetown and of course Plano West vs. Cedar Park. This weekends games will be the biggest challenge yet for the two Dallas based teams.

Rowlett matches up well vs. Georgetown and has a 50/50 or better shot to win this series. Will be pulling hard for Rowlett win and Plano West win. Last time I stood across the diamond from Mr. Loy our son's were 11.

Good Luck Rowlett Eagles!!!
