Roy Campanella, Lassie, and curveballs

I don't think I've seen 1 minute of a Lassie tv show in 20 years... until yesterday. Strangely enough, this 1959 episode titled "The Mascot" starred Roy Campanella as himself. For some reason, Roy was in Lassie's hometown helping coach a community baseball team.

As if that wasn't enough to catch my attention, Roy tells a promising young pitcher (maybe 10 or 11 years old) that he didn't recommend throwing curveballs at his age because it was hard on young arms. This was 1959!

I couldn't find this episode on-line, but it's probably out there.
