I seperated the AC joint in my shoulder and Doc told me not to lift upperbody for 6-8 weeks. I am a big incline bench guy and I messed up bad with military press. I am supposed to incorporated side-to side motions with a resistance band type deal, instead of the constant up and down stuff. I would like soem excersises on side to side motions, please. Thanks a bunch, this affects me playing ball this year.

AK, I'm sorry to hear about your injury! I want to caution you though, that it would be dangerous for any of us to recommend physical therapy exercises for you since we are not experts, and also we are unable to know all the details of your specific injury and condition. Can you get a referral from the Doc to a qualified physical therapist, preferably with experience in sports injuries?
AK-

I am really sorry to hear about your injury. I know from reading these boards that you have been working hard getting ready for the season and to have such a setback is really unfortunate.

As someone who broke his shoulder (actually cracked the ball portion), I would like to echo MN-Mom's advice - get a referral to a physical therapist, and then follow their advice to the letter.

I did follow the program - and while it was hard work and very time consuming, my shoulder is now stonger than it was before the injury.

Good luck with your recovery...
A follow up on this problem.
I made it to the PT today and I have some damage to the AC on the right side now. He told me that I have major strength problems with the scapula, which means that I gotta build that sucker up. I got my TheraBand and I am ready to rock! Things are looking good because I can build up and take away a major problem in the mechanics. Plus my coach showed me something in my windup that is fixable, so now with a little practice it is supposed to add about 2 mph. Well thats all and thanks for the help and support crew.
