How common is it that a player picks up an offer from a showcase tournament? How does it happen?

Also if it helps, I am a sophomore.
It happened to my son. He was a Junior playing in an 18u tournament. He never expected anything to happen playing in a tournament he just put on a show that day. If you can play just play, you never know who is watching.
I know many players who became recruited from showcase events. D-1 and lower. Play like someone is watching you ata ll times. Play hard and have fun. You never know who is watching.....
Usually we talk about showcases and tournaments as two different types of events. Can you give us an example of what you consider a showcase tournament?
Some of the tournaments my team is going to this summer will have college coaches there scouting. The tournament is specifically put on for exposure of the players to the college coaches.
IMO, it's not common to pick up an offer anywhere.
There are lots of variables, but if the colleges attending are a good fit for you (baseball and academics), then it's an excellent venue for them to evaluate you. You're a sophomore, so those coaches can't talk to you unless you're on their campus or if they are paid instructors. Typically, the college coach would talk to your travel coach, and they might want you to call them (that's always allowed) and talk about a visit and possibly an offer. As always, it's bests if you figure out which of those schools interests you and try to make contact before the tournament. They will be more likely to give you a closer look if they know that you are a potential recruit.
Thanks for the good tips and info all !
In our experience, most coaches wanted to see a player at least 3-4 times and get to know them a bit as a person before making an offer. Very common for a showcase tournament to generate interest and get the recruiting process going, however.

V-Tool in Texas/mid-west calls all of their tournaments "Showcases". They are round robin tournaments. They don't run 60's. etc. Just verbiage.
People sometimes call PG tournaments showcase tournaments. We call them tournaments or championships. Scouts and recruiters love to see teams playing for keeps, rather than just for exposure. You see some very important things about players when the team winning is the main goal. All the other stuff takes care of itself.
Individual showcases are also important, because you can get measurable and see things that might not appear in tournament games.
