Since it is almost impossible to agree on the most dominant athlete maybe this will be a simpler question. With recent examples like the US Women's Gymnastics and Basketball teams and the way the Warriors ran through the NBA regular season what is the most dominant team in sports history?

That's a tough one....Overall or 1 year? If the Warriors had won it all, I'd have to put them at the top of the list if you're talking about one year. With the exception of 1971, I'd put the '70-'76 Reds on the list. UConn womens basketball team is in the top 2 or 3....without question.
That's a hard one too - maybe '27 Yankees / '85 Bears / '96 Bulls...
1957-1969 Boston Celtics ... Eleven NBA championships in thirteen years, eight consecutive
With the number of teams drafting in each league and the quality of scouting now (no secrets) this will never be matched.
Single season? The Dophins once went 17-0. No one has done better in forty-three years.
UCLA Men's Basketball -
- 7 consecutive NCAA titles (1967–1973)
- 88 game win streak
- 4 undefeated seasons
De La Salle in the 90's
My son's 8th grade basketball team went 20-0 and then went on to beat the teachers team. First and only time it has ever been done. Now that is dominance!
