Slump

I'd reccomend just not thinking about it, and acting as each at bat is a separate occurance. For example, you didn't go 0-3, you went 0-1, then 0-1 again, then 0-1 again. they are not related, so don't think of them that way. Just go up and hit.

when i am in a slump, i find out what I am doing wrong and i get to the cages and take as many swings as I can to fix it. I take a lot more swings in the cages when I am in a slump to try to get out of it.

When i get in a slump, it usually two things happen. Mechanics and a return of a bad habit. I'm going in and out of this right now. The other is fatigue. When your body is tired it doesn't hit the ball as hard. Figure out which one it is and work from there.

I believe the best way to get out of a slump is to find a fat chick ASAP.

PS: I have never actually tried this method.

I heard the fat chick works...I just can't bring myself to do it. I recently ended a slump and I really couldn't give you one solid tip to end it, mainly because I tried everything! A good start though I think Is to remember to stay loose in the box. I also think bad pitch selection has alot to do with slumps.

Im in a slump right now too, but I think you just need to not worry about statistics. Im my case I was doing very well, then I started looking at the stats, then I went straight downhill, now Im just not gonna look at them again until the season is over and just worry about hitting the ball well and makign solid contact.

I think that the "fat chick" is referred to a "Slumpbuster." I heard Mark Grace use the term before and he explained how it worked. He said that it actually worked when the enitre team was in a hitting slump and a player would have to step up and "take one for the team."

My son had been in a slump for about a month. Last week he and I were on the way to the cage to do T-work when I said something about going back to his old hitting coach. He then told me the asst. coach at the HS wanted him to turn more so he made changes to his swing. Needless to say I was not happy.

He went back to his old swing and in the last 2 games he was 3-7 with 2B,3B, and HR.

Remember what was successful in the past and GET BACK TO BASICS.
