A touch of spring, in fact a couple days of summer, but as we head back to brrrrr lets us know how you all look.

As always there is no need for kid bashing or team bashing. Just let us know how you all look.

Team Name:
Big Name Players:
General Overview:

Example: I saw Arundel Play, and I am sure they may want to add names of players I don't know, but it will give you an idea.

Team Name: Arundel
Big Name Players: Corey Overholtzer, Tyler Hibbs, Matt Skrenchuk, Shawn Pleffner
General: Baseball, regardless of the level, is a Pitching/Hitting game. I saw several pitchers for Arundel do well against Mt. St. Joe hitters and I believe Arundel has 4 very good hitters and a couple more good hitters which should provide them with a great opportunity to do well this year.

Let's hear from others. I know there are big time players on St. Johns, St. Albans, Dematha, Riverdale Baptist, Broadneck and many others. Calvert Hall has to be good, and I have seen a couple quality pitchers from St. Pauls this year. Let us know how you are doing.

Team Name:Linganore Lancers
Big Name Players: Carl Huber, Jay Greene, Justin Powell, Ryan Murray, Mike Herrod, and Derek Seib. Not sure how they rate to the other big name players but these would be ours.

General Overview: We have 9 returning seniors, 7 of which started as Juniors. We'll see how we are looking for this season a little better once we play St. Joes on the 23rd.

We also have some nice young talent that I'm hoping we'll step up this season and fill in our holes.
Al,

Have had the pleasure of watching Broadneck scrimmage three teams; Elkton, MD, Cape Henlopen(ranked 7th in DE), and McDonough.

Very good performances from pitchers 5 total runs over three games (using 6 different pitchers).

Solid top to bottom hitting. Better than 12 runs per game. Quite a few extra base hits over the three games.

Defense will determine season. Could be a major surprise in AA County this year. Not much credit given to them so far.

Varsity is 2-2 robbie mathias got the loss yesterday but had 6 unearned runs so our defense is struggling.

(I am Dan Litfin)
Great game in AA County tonight. Undefeated Arundel hosting Severna Park. No score through about 5 innings. Severna Park loaded the bases with no outs in the third, but Arundel escaped without giving up a run. Arundel got a runner to second with one out in the fourth or fifth, but failed to score. Arundel also missed another scoring opportunity when Jack Bickford lined a single off the first baseman's glove that rolled into the rightfield corner. Jason Daniels tried to score from first, but was thrown out by a great relay from the rightfielder to firstbaseman to catcher. In the fourth or fifth, with a runner on second, a Severna Park batter (I think it was the catcher Zingler, but not sure) hit a bomb over the centerfieder's head that landed at the base of the fence, scoring a run. In the bottom of the seventh, Shawn Pleffner laced a single to right. Pinch hitter, Mike Behrle, stroked a long double down the leftfield line, scoring Pleffner to tie the game. Pinch runner, Austin Bailey, moved to third on a wild pitch, then scored on a sqeeze bunt by Ricky Sillaman to win 2-1.

Joel Roberts went the distance for Arundel. Sammy Sheckells pitched for Severna Park. I think he was replaced to start the seventh, but not sure.

Appolgize if I got any of the names or innings wrong. Just had to let everyone know what a great game it was.
I'm coming late to this thread, but watch Centennial (Howard County). 12-0 including a five game sweep in NY over the weekend. 5 wins in HC by slaughter. They're playing like possible a 3-A repeat.

Big guns....Harclerode (3B), Bechta (CF), Dresser (2B), Winter (P), Swinson (SS), Hein (LF).

Deep, talented on both O & D, motivated, excellent coaching.

Harclerode, Bechta, and Dresser started as freshmen in 04 when they won the state.
