For the next three days, every game I work will be the last game ever in someone's career.

Have you heard of the Monday Blues Matt...gesh....need more coffee before being so existential.
It really is a difficult time of year in that regard... HS and college, guys and girls.
Channel surfing a bit yesterday, caught the end of the Michigan softball game. I was particularly struck that the senior star from Michigan was one of few who didn't break down at all after their elimination loss. Along with all the great baseball (and softball), I've sure seen a lot of tears over the last three weeks.
Thank God we only had one senior this year and his career is not over.
I am still trying to get over that my son's career in baseball is done. I cannot imagine how the players must feel.
I remember my last game. I didn't want to take off my uniform. I knew I would never wear it again. It didn't help we had just been eliminated. As I sat there it was as if my baseball life raced before me. I was smiling and crying at the same time. My son's career ended in a doctor's office being told he needed surgery. To quote him on his final baseball experience, "****!"
In a lot of ways the ones who know it is their last game are the lucky ones. Much like RJM son, a torn ACL ended mine and I wasn't lucky enough to know I had already had my last game. Needless to say it is a tough time and certainly wish all those that are completing their careers the best of luck in the future.
