Congrats Good Knight to you and your whole family! Your Grandson has had an amazing year and I'm looking forward to watching him and many of the other IA '21's continue to compete in college (including Iowamom23's son). I'm biased but this is the deepest and most talented class to come out of Iowa for quite some time. Good look to all who will be battling in Iowa City. Enjoy the ride. The state tourney will be must watch TV in my house.
btw - I liked how you measured your g-son's % of improvement in various areas. I did the same for my son and it's a great way to reflect on the various ways they improved (as well as identify weaknesses) from year to year.

I'll be spending next week sweating my way through our county fair. Be missing a lot of baseball the next couple of weeks.
I feel sorry for everyone not living in IOWA today.
We are making jam from out blackberry bush, eating sweet corn, and enjoying our fresh grown tomatoes on BLT's. All while watching the state tournament on tv.

Awesome year! Congrats to him! Regarding your last paragraph, HS stats are extremely overrated. Every next level coach knows that, but some parents can’t come to grips with that fact.
When are the next games? I tried the link on the last one but it didn't work -- though I was getting to it very late so the game might have been over already.

This Pleasant Valley baseball squad will be on short list of best baseball teams in QC history. 10-0 vs. 4A state qualifiers 18-0 vs. MAC (first to do that) 37-4 overall!

Holy God. I actually met "that guy" last night. I was quietly trying to watch the game and he wanted to know If we had it to do over would we waste our time with HS baseball. For the love of God, I am at the championship game!
I explained that Seth was unwilling to let "his guys" down.
He explained to me that D! coaches were talking to them and how he was unhappy with t their HS. He said our school was on his short list but he did not like our student body taunting at the game today.
Normally I just ignore fools, but I asked about him and looked up his kid.
His 60 time is done with a calendar vs a stop watch. He throws 80 mph. He is short and 240!
And we are on his short list. His kid wants to go to Mississippi State of course, but James is 240 and well... not short. And fast as hell. He is a non pitcher that can throw 90.
I rest my case. I now know "THAT GUY"! Problem is he knows me.

To be clear I was in Florida all week and while we greatly respect Mississippi State baseball we are pre-committed to Clemson. We are very close now too, just got a very personalized email inviting us to their upcoming camp. Consider this commitment booked. We probably will be updating his commitment status on PG later today.
