I was at the WB-SD game last evening. It was interesting to say the least.
Wojo gave up two hits and two runs in the first inning. He then limited the Cherokees to 1 hit for the next 5 innings. WB led 4-2 entering the 7th.
Craig ran out of gas in the 7th and with 2 on Zach came to the plate and hit a "no-doubter" into the trees behind left center field.
All 5 South Doyle runs were driven in by Zach. It was an interesting game. Not the most well played or offensively exciting, maybe just a typical high school game.
Let me add my congratulations to Zach, along with the others.
Sidenote: It was great to chat with my old friend and SD coach Robbie Howard. Coach Howard is one of the true class acts in high school coaching.
Prediction -- Look out for the Cherokees when they get a couple of injured players back and a couple of his "young ones" gain experience. They should be a very dangerous team come tourney time.
