WP: Zach Rutherford, LP: Zach Rice, SP: -

WB 3 NR 1. Mistakes continue to haunt Nansemond River. 2 errant pickoff throws to 1B (both with 2 outs in the inning) and a throwing error on a ground ball lead to 2 WB runs. WB played sound and mistake free baseball.

For WB Grant Miaorana 2-3 with a run scored. For NR Tucker Rhoads 1-3 with a double.  Rutherford and Rice both go 7 innings with each giving up 6 hits while striking out 5.

Yes.  Trevor Riggs made two outstanding catches on the run on balls in right centerfield I don't think anyone believed he would be able to run down.  He has been the one bright spot in the field and at the plate for Nansemond River

NR has 4 wins against the bottom 4 teams with a combined record of 2-22 and 3 losses against 3 of the top 4 teams with a combined record of 17-4.  I would respectfully say in the words of Bill Parcells, "you are what your record says you are".

Go Dawgs that's spot on. You are as good as your records says you are. Those bottom half teams are awful. Good teams are supposed to win those games. 6 hits isn't a lot. You don't hit, you won't score. It kills me what people say about River and the "struggle". Guess what....It's not the same team. I don't side with anyone. Yes I'm an 2003 grad, played ball @ River an have respect for the program, but come on!!!! They aren't and will never be what it was. We live in a society were excuses are made and reward for loosing! I believe if they could go back and hit the repeat button players and coaches...they would. I mean go back to game one. Someone else got the nod over Senior pitcher going to UNC and who has a chance to get drafted. Any one of heard of the "little things". Common Sense goes a long way!!!!
