You guys don't seem to know the Tigers very well......their team ERA in the second half of the season is the same as it was in the first half.......their collars are not tight at all......they struggle agains top line pitching........you can look at the record and stats, their pitching remains consistent!! They split with the Yankees yesterday and gave up only 5 runs in 18 innings.

How about this, if Monroe makes such a difference. We'll sit Monroe for the rest of the season and have the Sox sit Dye......Dye is a bigger difference maker than Monroe is.

You guys must know tons about the Sox and maybe even the Cubs, but your perspective on the Tigers from 300 miles away isn't very representative of the reality.

Nobody knows for sure what will happen, but these are the facts:

Tiger pitching has not waned AT ALL.

The White Sox have gained ONE GAME on the Tigers in the last month!!

The White Sox are closer to being left out of the playoffs than they are to first place.

Those are facts, not blind opinions. And yes, I am a Tiger fan.
Grateful:

Though I agree with you that the Tiger's are stellar, some corrections are in order. I do not normally deal in blind opinions (they are based on reality).

1)The Sox were 7 1/2 behind 1 month ago.....you were about half right!

2)Bonderman and Verlander are NOT the same. ERA's have jumped up with several poor performances.(2 runs up for Bonderman and 3 runs up...per game for Verlander!...in last month's starts)

There is simply NO DENYING that these are the real facts!

Go to [ESPN.com] to check and to check your nerves! and....please get rid of your blind opinions! (lol)

3 more with the Sox will be very scary for your boy's that have NOT been there before!

Btw, I watch several Tiger games each week. I was there for Sparky, Alan and Lou at the 84 WS.
If the Sox don't win it all I hope the Tiger's do!....but they are stumbling...time will tell if they can pick it back up like the World Champ's did last year!

Sox.....

Okay you got me on the month ago thing, but I remembered it being even closer, and if you look back the Sox were only 2 games behind at the All-Star break.......

The other facts I was right about:

The Tigers pitching has not waned......their team ERA is virtually the same as it was a month and two months ago.....

And the other fact......you really should acknowledge that I was 100% correct.......the Sox are significantly closer to being out of the playoffs than they are to being in first place. Again, a fact you CAN NOT DENY......you may ignore it though, and I won't blame you.

No opinions there, simply facts!

I do like the Sox and especially their batting order. Dare I say, that the Tiger lead might be 10 games were it not for your MVP candidate in RF..........that is opinion, but may be true...who knows?

I haven't knocked the Sox even once, but I haven't read anything about the Sox being World Champs again in 2006, 2007, etc., lately.

I was rooting for the Tigers when they won it all in '68, in '84, when they were trying to avoid 120 losses in 2003, and now again as they are being chased in 2006.
We seem to be in for a very wacky ending in the AL Central.

The way it's going down the Tiger's are in awfully good shape.

Then again if the Sox finish like last year...watch out!

Or if the Twin's finish like they played for over 2 month's...watch out.

Or if the Tiger's find thier stride like they did in the first half....it's OVAHHH!

My guess is 1 or 2 of them WILL wake up and dominate the playoff's like the Sox did last year.

This is an AL thing, the national league hasn't prepared any of thier teams for the playoff's, including the mutt's!
For the last month, The Stinkin' Yankees are the only team that is at all special in the AL. The Twins had it going for a while but they appear to be sputtering as well. Truth is these teams have some serious flaws, sox with ordinary pitching and and big swing offense that can't score if they don't go yard.....not to mention some really ragged play in general. Sadly it's the Yankees.

Honestly, not a lot of good baseball being played in either league.

Mets vs. Yankees in another Subway Series, this time the Mets have a chance.

I am going to ask it again, if anyone is really managing the sox do they ever call to the bullpen and say something like hey how is jenks warming up, oh not so good okay we will go with thorton or keep Macdougal in. I just watched jenks give up 4 double in a row and give up a 2 run lead in the 9th. He had nothing on his fastball,(no movement or velocity) and also no curve. How can anyone say their is managing going on with the white sox? Sorry I am venting after watching this performance, 3 out of the last 4 games good enough starting pitching to win and either blown by the pen or lack of offense. I am not blaming the pen I am blaming how the team is run.
sox...grateful....

I agree!!!! If you have watched Konerko lately, he shows no movement on bad or semi-bad throws from the infield. Doesn't adjust his feet or stretch to catch the ball!!!! Bad, bad defense. Also, waits for that 'homerun' pitch to much. With his strength, he can, if he wants to go "opposite field" more often to create runs for his team. Maybe a bit selfish. Yeah, I know, he stepped-up when Frank was here, but as they say, "what have you done for me lately"!

The Sox just look plain 'flat'! There are a few bright spots with Thornton and at times, McCarthy, but everyone looks flat. Even A.J. seems at times to be down.
I am not so sure the twins will win the division all though they have been playing tough. They ahd a big loss with Liriano going down for the season with a pop in his elbow. Hope he is all right, I am a sox fan but I sure enjoyed watching that young man pitch. As far as the tigers they sure look questionable as we come into the final couple of weeks/ Should be an interesting finish.
"Come on we have to do better than that."

I didn't see Pod's particular gaffe...but I did see Iguchi's.

All of the political ads slamming Judy Baar Topinka ask "what was she thinking?"...that's nuthin'...what was Tadihito thinking?

Strangest bit of baserunning that I've ever seen...it was so bizarre that even the Angel's defense was mystified...thank goodness we had a big lead at the time!

The White Sox can definitely 'take it all' again...but the way they are playing now and squandering opportunities sure leaves Sox fans scratching their heads.

Perhaps this might help us...the itchy Sox fans...

STRESS CAUSED BY ERRATIC AND UNINSPIRED PLAY BY OUR BELOVED WHITE SOX CAN GO TO YOUR HEAD... LITERALLY!

It may trigger HEAD SCRATCHING that invariably leads to SCALP ITCH, an ailment most White Sox fans are now experiencing. You can take comfort in the fact that you are not alone - some 87% of declared sober White Sox fans (the Ligue clan excluded), both men and women of all ages, have suffered from at least one scalp stress symptom during the second half of this current baseball season. Whether it's flaking, burning, itching, throbbing, fuming, steaming, or another scalp discomfort, scalp problems are more common than White Sox fans think.

Scalpicin® Anti-Itch Liquid "Hypoallergenic Formula" and NEW! Maximum Strength Scalpicin® Anti-Itch Liquid "Dermatology Formula" are the remedies for certain types of scalp itch, particularly those brought about by gut wrenching games played by the White Sox over the last two months.

These products are not shampoos, they are medicated, leave-in treatments that do not contain coal-tar, but rather, just a pinch of aromatic pine-tar. This makes them safe and convenient, allowing them to be applied any time or place that scalp itch becomes bothersome.

They're so effective at reducing distactiing and annoying itching that all security personnel at Sox Park have been instructed to allow the convenient applicator bottles of all types of Scalpicin through the gates...no questions asked! Plus, neither product will interfere with your mullet hairstyle or drip into your scrumptious Ball Park Frank or thirst quenching Miller Genuine Draft. The Scalpicin product you choose depends on the severity of your frustration, which in turn influences the level of discomfort caused by your your scalp itch.

So, instead of suffering the discomfort from scratching your head during the game in your search to find the answers as to why the White Sox are playing as they are, just dab a little doo from the convenient applicator bottle 10 or 15 minutes before the opening pitch. Your scalp itching problem will be solved...what a relief!

Unfortunately, the problem with the numbers stacking up in the loss column won't be affected by the Scalpicin treatment...unless, of course, the application is so sloppy that a fair amount of Scalpicin ends up in your eyes and you are then unable to read the standings!

That's it! Tadihito obviously had a screw or bolt loose or missing and he probably heard that the crew of our space shuttle had lost one in space yesterday...he was merely trying to put himself back together again.

I, as screwball as they come, can only come to this stupidest conclusion for Tadihito's lapse yesterday. It really makes as much sense as any other possibility.

Yes, Hawk was critical...and you're correct in saying that the other space cadets should be publicly 'called out' when they suit up for their too frequent spacewalks.

Maybe Joey and AJ need to place little treats or rewards on third base and home plate so our untethered spacewalkers can 'zero in' on them.

Which snack or treat do you suppose would be most productive?

Jermaine might just dye for some packets of soda ash...needed for curing his tie-dyed shirts (a hold over hobby from his Bay area days).

And Pods...he would benefit from some CD's of old Roadrunner cartoons...he needs to model himself after the Roadrunner so he can outwit Wily Coyote and all of his Acme products. "Beep, beep!"
