Hi everyone - we've got a high school LHP getting a lot of attention and need advice on the offers:

Are scholarship offers to pitchers in the Spring diminished due to spending on other players, or should we expect about the same as in the November signing period? From research on this site, it looks like November would be

1. 60-80% = stud LHP
2. 30%-59% = highly desirable LHP with potential

I know fit is important and academics first, but we all know who's going to pay for the difference between the scholarship offer and the actual costs.

Thanks to everyone for your input.

Brod, the spring offers are driven just like the early offers. What a school can offer is determined by how many kids they're recruiting, who's already signed (spring may mean they've signed several or it may not), and what the program funds.

I really don't think anyone can compare offers. An average for huge fully funded DI vs a small DI that only funds 3 scholarships. There are too many variables I think.
Hows a definite maybe........

IMO every situation could be different, but depending on the school and their early signing class I would think that offer size could be negatively affected.

If u look at the schools website and look at the size of the early signing class it may give u some idea. A school may also let u know that they they have 1.5 schollys left and need to still sign 5 players...
