During the fall, a lot of time was spent on this board indicating which seniors committed to which schools. Any info on who has committed during the spring signing period?

I dont know any signing going on, but most probaly will happend later in the season, coaches are still watching.
I committed to Mike palmer at harper community college, all im waiting for is my LOI to come in and im signing it....

Beenthere...I talked with the Indiana coach (he is new this year...spent the last few years as head coach at Miami-Ohio). Seems committed to developing the program to being competitive in the Big 10.

Coach Gillespie is cleaning up!
How much does he factor into the kids' decisions, how much do the facilities / program, and how much does the school?
I ask because:
a) he's very good, but won't be there forever. Will things fall of again when he retires? or ...
b) Silver Cross field makes that an easy sell and the chance to play for a trip to the WS every year, while getting some scholarship money, is very tempting.

If it wasn't for your showcase last August, Andy wouldn't have had the opportunity of looking at Rochester or Tufts. They both fit his high academic requirements for Biomedical Engineering, plus baseball. The University of Chicago was in the mix for awhile, along with Tulane and Emory, but couldn't match the dollars of the other schools.
I really want to thank you for all of your help and guidance the last few years. You have become a friend, and with your straight forward opinions, have made a difference in the college process. BeenthereIl, yourself, and me, are cut from that 'old school' mold. Straight-and-to- the-point opinions.
I have, and will continue to recommend your showcases www.collegeselect.org to anyone who is interested in having their son attend and play baseball out East. Your every bit as good as Perfect Game, and the speakers you have at your showcases are second to none!!!!

Ratboy, nothing is forever, but Coach Gillespie has put together a very solid group of assistant coaches that has also helped the team have a solid season. The school is dedicated to the program so I'm confident it will be strong for years to come.
Playing at Silver Cross is second to none. They play in a solid conference with great rivalries against SXU and ONU, which are both solid programs year after year. I know they're looking to get more D1's on the schedule wherever possible.
I'm a little prejudice but it's a great program to consider if you're a player they're recruiting.

Reported in the Joliet Herald News today - Bill Barrett a senior pitcher from Lockport has signed a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois.

I just found on the "Online resources for the NCAA" the listing for Graduation rates for each college in D1, D2, D3. Since most of you will be going to school to play AND get an education "so that you can turn Pro in something other than sports", I thought this would be useful if you are deciding between schools.
If you are attending a college, one indicator of "how good of a University it is?" is there graduation rates for all students and one for just athletes. The top colleges graduate around 90% of students (UI, UC, Loyola). I think the average is in the 55 to 60% range. I've noticed most good Private colleges are in the middle 60's.
