You might want to check out National High School Broadcast Network - www.nshbn.com - to see if you can broadcast on them.

My school uses this for our football games. We are located very close to Camp Lejeune and many of our players have parents that are deployed. This allows them to see the game live or on a link to our schools website.

I have no idea if there is a cost or anything but it's something you can look into.

I think that is a cool idea. As long as the broadband connection is sound, it ought to work fine.

Would caution doing something like this at a college game or perhaps a high school state championship game, for example, where broadcast rights might be involved. That said, I can't believe anyone would get too bent out of shape if you were just transmitting to one parent and were not actually broadcasting it to a plurality of people.
You might want to consider using Ustream.tv

You can broadcast live directly from the computer on site as long as you have a good connection. And you embed the player on like your team's website or wherever.

Also, Logitech has just come out with a new HD webcam for under $100. Picture and audio is excellent...I have wanted to do this as well, but I don't have a connection in the press box...darn it!
