I don't want to be redundant -- I have not read the article highlighted above -- but I understand he is considered, my some, to be the best college baseball player ever <-- pretty steep praise, eh? The Nationals are making plans to pay the highest bonus ever given to an amateur player. Cool that he's coming to town this weekend. Cool
Baseball America, Mar 8th had a story on Strasberg. It asked the question, "How does a pitcher go from obscurity to the top of the draft? It offers the answer 1) hit 101mph, 2) outduel the first pitcher taken in last year's draft, 3) stike out 23 batters in a game.

As a HS senior Strasberg was touching 90mph, was 6-4 and 250lb. He dropped 30lb his first semester at SDSU and added 8 mph on his fb between his freshman and sophomore seasons at SDSU.
I haven't found anything definite yet. I did see an article in the SDSU newspaper stating that he would "likely pitch Friday night against TCU."

I do know that he last pitched Saturday against BYU; he went 7 innings and there has been no mention of an injury. So, every indication is that he will pitch tonight.

I'm betting on it and will be there with multiple layers of clothes on! It'll be interesting if he can hit 100 mph in these conditions - I have my doubts.
RockSon2 and me made the drive and sat thru the cold (39F) on Friday to see Strasburg. Here's some pics for those that couldn't be there.

Kudos to the TCU lead-off hitter, Ben Carruthers. He welcomed Strasburg to Fort Worth by taking a fastball deep, about 340ft down the left field line just inside the foul pole.
