McMurray was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Reached base all four at bats. He was pinch-hit for in the seventh.

I just read in the Tribune that Coach Del Fava of Loyola was fired. Quite a surprise after his team did so well this year in the summer league playoffs. Does anyone have any insight as to why he was let go?

Last two state champions were Naperville Central and Lockport Township, neither of which is in the WSS.

Boomer, you know how i feel about Mizzpooh...and the coaches alike. it is a business, i understand that....but if i ran my business like they run theres, i'd be out of business cause my customers couldn't depend on what i was telling them to be the truth so, they would fire my butt and i'd have no money to pay for travel baseball. i hope he looks at all his options, i know he has several already, and thinks about academics first and baseball second. in my humble opinion, he could walk in and play left for ISU next year if thats where he decides to go. some of the others are telling him all sorts of stories....all i say is be careful out there there are alot of snakes in the weeds. and there are some great guys telling you what they think of your ability and where you fit in. just my thoughts,though they mean nothing to alot of people, it may be some insight to those coming up.....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the catch that McMurray made to end the Downers Grove game. It definitely shows that he comes from a solid family.

I have also watched McMurray since his Prairie Gravel days and I also think he is a heck of a ballplayer. Now I ask the question that has been bugging me, how was he left off the area code games? Any ideas? Also one of the best catches I have seen in High school outfield was Biela in the Mid- suburban championship game robbing I think Guido of a home run. Both of those guys can play and hit.

biela's catch was definitely amazing, best of the year in my opinion... he added some suspense too by not showing that he caught it until i was almost rounding 2nd base haha

Congrats to LT !!!! Just a stupid question...UK what does making a great catch have to do with coming from a solid famliy? Not that he doesnt and he is a great kid ,but I am not getting the connection.

It was just poorly worded as there's no connection as far as the ability to make that kind of catch with having a solid support system.

After hearing some comments, I do wish I seen Butch's (Biela) catch.
