Looking at my 2019's progression over the last 2 years, I am noticing his throwing velocity (infield for him), seems to track pretty closely to his hitting exit velo off a Tee.  I started looking at some of the PG and PBR stats on other players and it looks like quite a few track the same way.  Im guessing this is not going to be the case for the big guys, but maybe for it's more common for the smaller middle infield type guys?  Thoughts?

3AND2, I agree at some point they would deviate as the exit is going to surpass the throwing potential eventually and sooner for the bigger stronger players.  Its just interesting because I would not think they would be related, but it seems like there may be a certain muscle group or groups that could be related that are driving it.

You may be able to look at the exit velo of an athletic player, and be able to tell what their throwing potential would be after fine tuning mechanics.

Maybe

with throwing there are certain genetic limitations, I sincerely believe.  Most humans top out their potential around 77-80 mph.  There are a ton of high school pitchers who throw right around there.  Those kids could get daily pitching instruction from Pedro Martinez, weight training with the best of the best,do steroids and still won't throw harder than 80....  But you can train more people to hit 90 off the Tee

Agreed, I think there are individual genetic peaks on throwing which is lower than hitting.  Just another thing to note though, going through off season not throwing a ball for a few months, but working in the cages on hitting still shows the same tracking of exit velo to throwing velo going into spring, which makes me think there is certain muscle development driving it.

I'm not sure about the steroids. Steroids in high school baseball could be its own thread!
