First they tried to teach her run away and find a new team. When that didn't work teach her don't worry honey mommy and daddy have enough money to fix it.

According to the article there are 16 girls on the team (so no shortage there) she had 4 offers, she went with this team because of the promised playing time.  After two tourneys of being sat she (the player) approached the coach and he told her she wouldn't see the playing time he had promised, he gave her the option to join another team, she accepted...but the league then said no, effectively trapping her into a non-playing position in her 10th grade year when she was trying to break out...hard to do that from the bench.

Thankfully my kid plays Travel Baseball....if he was in 10th grade and was made offers by 4 teams and went with the team that the coach assured him a LOT of playing time, and then he was actually riding the pine I would object to him not being allowed to join another team.

Bottom line, this girl was offered significant playing time which affected her decision on where to play, and then didn't get it...so she wanted to change teams and go where she was valued...still don't see the problem here.

I know the teams are full of players that's my point. When she moves to the new team she will be taking time from another girl who was also probably promised playing time.

What is she going to do if she does get recruited to college? Does she think their recruitment speech is going to be honest. I was pretty heavily recruited as a football player. Every coach I talked to said I would start as a freshman and every one was full of it. When I showed up on campus I was a piece of crap nobody freshman and had to bust my butt to earn playing time. My roomate also told he would start as a freshman got cut.

Sorry if her and her parents put any stock in a playing time promise that's on them. Plus this isn't a 10 year old. I understand a parent changing teams for PT for a little kid. This is a sophomore who says she wants to be a college player. IMO an opportunity to help mold her into the type of person that could become a college player was just passed up. Adversity makes us stronger not lawyers.

My son also plays travel baseball and when he's a sophomore and if he doesn't get the PT he wants. I don't care what the coach promised. I would tell him to work harder and earn some. Changing teams wouldn't be a option.

Wow.

Wow.I have a daughter that's only 4-months, but seems very advanced and her private (tummy time) instructor said she had D1 potential. Would I be considered an overbearing or overusing parent if I started my 4-month old on the 6-month old video? Please let me know. We're very stressed over this.

You need to be careful what you wish for here. Your 4 month old might be ready physically for a 6 month old program, but she might be too young yet to be exposed to the more "mature" mentality!
