“Still Learning, Let me offer you a belated welcome to the HSBBW. Still Learning ---- Is that not the perfect name for the parent of a player wanting to learn about how to get to the next level? I like that name because it applies to ALL of us on the HSBBW. Things change from day to day and each player and each parent finds themselves in a situation that has its own unique set of glitches. PGStaff said something today that maybe explains why we are all --- “Still Learning”
quote:
Often when I read these threads about recruiting, negotiating, pro vs college, scholarships, etc., (What should we be doing?) I get the feeling that the same suggestions sometimes are considered to hold true in every situation. IMO – That is not how it works.

Without knowing who the player is we are talking about, there can not be any standard answer to many of the questions people ask.

I might add there are many other things that add to the diversity of answers. Geography factors in with some responses as does the level of play your son is currently involved in. For instance I look at high school baseball much differently now than I did when my son was actively participating in high school baseball. I don’t “look down” on high school baseball but I do understand more of where it fits in the big picture for the player that will eventually play college baseball.

Still Learning, LOTS of answers on the HSBBW!

Welcome.

Like I've alway's said this site is a form of Group Therapy for me.
Because the majority of poster's on this site are Parent's looking for answer's, And Old timer's sticking around to help with simple advice.

I kind of learn as I go along in the process, With all the mistake's that go along with that. And there's been many.

So far everything's worked out. But it's a process that take's time, with no sure outcome.

I know the Coaches, and ex Ball Player's, Recruiter's, Scout's.
People that have been thru this before, Just shake there head.
But we do appreciate your time that you spend with sometime confused Player's or Parent's. EH
