Ken,

You sure get upset when people start talking about who can beat who. I guess in your world it would be best if we didn't keep score, just play seven and watch the skilled youngsters. Well, I think since we do keep score....we might as well teach our kids how to battle and try to achieve victory. Good athletes are quite often good salesman....because they learned to compete. Real world stuff my friend! Big Grin

Well you are correct................

They do keep score....and last I checked there wasn't a box score in any sports pages that I've seen yet.

And the last I checked there was nothing on this thread about the concept of teaching a kid to battle and achieve victory. Maybe you could enlighten us.

Concrete Salesman regards,

Ken Guthrie

This kid has world class speed. Mark that.

Cool your jets, young'un. I said nothing derogatory about anyone. Just paid a compliment to Miller, who has some serious wheels himself.

Jets haven't even been turned on..............

Just stating the truth.

No, just stating your opinion. The truth would have numbers with it.

4.34 on the turn. MMWS 2004. There is your fact. Confirmed by MLB Scout and I.

Don't let it bother you......brush it off and get em' on the next play.

Ken --- come see Slater, Emens, and other energetic Panthers play the game this spring! Cool

Was able to see Slater play in the CMWS this past summer. Great player and better kid.

I didn't mean my post as a knock on anybody. I read both religiously. I believe that Jason supplies some content to this site so I was just trying to show him some love.

I don't know Fuda, but I have seen Miller, Slater, and Leftridge a whole bunch and Leftridge is the fastest - although not by much.

No worry Uncle E, Just wanted to make sure you knew about the publication.. I think we got a real winner in this Total Texas Baseball.
While Miller is fast, he ain't in the same league as Leftridge, period.

And that's coming from his dad. Heck, there are 3 kids faster than my son at his own HS (don't play baseball). They used to run the 4x100 together back in Jr. High. The track coach thought about trying to get them back together this spring for a track meet, but after my son pulled his hamstring last summer, I don't think he needs to risk it.

Joe's 6.46 at PG was on a slow track. Heard he can run a 6.2 flat on turf.

That's Deion fast.

And again, I've seen plenty of fast kids play outfield that couldn't track a ball. Joe gets a huge jump on the ball which makes him that much faster.

Sit back and watch, the next Joe Leftridge is a kid by the name of Randall Thorpe at Colleyville. He's got a great bloodline too.

They are all incredibly fast, regardless of who has a slightly better time on a given day. Faster than probably 99.9% of the rest...

Well if everything was put in that tense, there wouldn't be any rankings.

We would just say this team is better than the others most of the time and teams would just go out there and play ball.

Imagine that. Wink
If you truly dislike the hot stove talk that much, get off your backside and get out. Your grumbling won't be missed.

Come back in June, then you will have your results.

I've got news for you, even back in the days when baseball was the pure sport you moan for, there was hotstove talk. Didn't seem to wreck things then...
Come to think of it, this baseball stuff is a lot like our nations political system.

-We got Repulicans and Democrats like summer ball and high school ball.

Both basically the same thing but everybody wants to make them so different.

-We got a President and a Vice President.

Kind of like a #1 and #2 pitcher. Both are needed but still it takes the whole team (congress) to win.

-We got Uncle Sam.

The same concept as the money spending in amatuer baseball. The harder you work, the more money they take. And in the end, you still are in the same place.

-And finally you have people like Jesse Jackson, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill Clinton.

Just like we have SWAC, Train, and that guy Texan who thinks he knows what he's talkin' about too.

You see folks, it's all the same.

So the next time you hear that ole' saying..........

"That kids not playing? Ahh hell, it's all a bunch of politics."

Think to yourself...... what's the big deal? It's the real world out there. Big Grin

Not to mention Kenny, who apparently doesn't even know enough to know what he doesn't know...

In that respect, maybe he is more Gore than Hillary. Big Grin

Now run along and play with your bird dogs. I've got other things to do.

*All done here, PD.*

Oh.........the void you must have in ones life.

A man who cannot appreciate "man's best friend" must not be that man himself.

It's Ok Texan, keep dreaming for acceptance into the fraternity. The fraternity of the professional athlete.

It is only then can you truely understand the experience your lust for.

Until then, it's nothing more than a bunch of political mumbo jumbo.

"mumbo-jumbo" = BS..............that's how us youngsters say it these days. Wink
