Just to follow up on my previous comments on the Music City Classic 16U in Nashville:  there did end up being anywhere from 2-5 college scouts at most of our games there.  It was a good experience.  Worth the money?  Heck if I know!  However, it was fun...

My 2020 went to the 16U last year and the 17U this year.  Smattering of scouts at most games, and about a dozen at the games at Vanderbilt.  In my opinion this is the best tournament he's gone to.  This year his team played three consecutive games that were started by SEC commits.  We don't get that at Diamond Nation.

K9,

To be fair, it depends on locality and the event.  Diamond Nations bigger events will have better respresentation of colleges (e.g. The Garden State Classic and Selectfest), but if the player is looking at a specific conference, then the player must know the area the school covers (with exception to the larger PG events).  Otherwise, must go to camps.

The challenge position players will have at tournaments will be the number of actual attempts to show your skillset.  Note, you better have a great pitcher on your team, otherwise coaches tend to move on quickly.

My kid was lucky enough to have played in the 16u PG WWBA National Championship as a Freshman and Sophomore and the 17u in Atlanta as a Junior..

He also played in the WWBA World Championship in Jupiter as a Junior and Senior...

I think these events were the most crucial for his recruiting purposes...

What position did your son play? Did your team have strong pitching?

My son had a plan....he worked hard in school, kept his grades up, trained religiously, worked with weighted ball guy, did showcases, worked with a pitching coach, emailed college coaches, went to college camps, looked to play on best travel team(s) available, etc.  There was no particular order to this...it all started when he was a freshman in high school......and not much happened until his junior year in highschool.

What ive learned is that all journeys are different......on my sons, nobody really cared until he was consistently sitting 89-92. Everything he did over the prior 3 years, however, put him in that position.

Fortunately, that happened summer before senior year.   At that velocity and with his grades he was able to choose between p5 and ivies.....the irony is 6 months prior it seemed he was destined for high academic d3 or mid major d1.
