The Kissing Bandit was a lot of woman. I'll never forget a Saturday afternoon Game of the Week I was watching. The camera panned to her walking through the crowd and Garagiola and Kubek were so dumbfounded that they couldn't talk. The only thing Garagiola could muster was something like "I don't believe that."

In the day and age of Morgana the Kissing Bandit fans running on the field was considered a harmless nuisance. Look at all the photos of fans on the field when game winning hits are made. Fans used to storm the field when a pennant was won.

We live in a different era now where anyone coming out of the stands is considered a possible threat to the players. A few years ago I was standing on the court at the Wacovia Center (Sixers/Flyers). I looked up at the stands and thought how intimidating it would be to be a player and have fans pouring out of the stands at you.

From Yahoo Sports .... "But this doofus in Philly was running on the field, being a nuisance like 17-year-olds can be. Shane Victorino was never in danger. Nobody was."

This is easy to determine after the fact. But how about in the moment? Stay off the field and there isn't an issue.

It happened again tonight. The person wasn't tasered.
Morganna turned into a publicity stunt in her own right. She was an authorized 'unauthorized' person on the field.

I am all for tazing these clowns when they run on the field. These days you have no idea what some loser is going to do on the field if given a chance. Look at what happened to Monica Seles in 1993. If that can happen then it can happen now.
Trespassing in and of itself, no.

But he ran from police, interupted a game in progress and as I said, who knows what this guys plans are.

We aren't talking about shooting the fool, we are talking about non lethal force to take someone down. Is it pleasant? Nope, been tazed, didn't like it one bit but it is less potentially harmful for both the police officer and the perp than gang tackling him.

I can see the lawsuit there for some kind of Milton Bradley injury that resulted from a take down.

If that clown is still alive today, I bet he still feels that hit, and wishes he'd been tasered instead.
Every time I see a player run on hte field I think of Mike Curtis. Curtis put a forearm shiver on the fan has he ran up to scoop the ball. Laid him out cold.
