"Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Nomar Garciaparra. These names all conjure up a certain stereotypical baseball player in the minds of fans. Most people wouldn't even recognize the name "Jimmy Goelz" and at first sight, grouping him in the same category as these players would seem generous at the very least"...and non-sensical at the very best.
The guy is promoting his own website.
He was a senior draft and hit .188 in the short season summer league. He shouldn't have been given a chance for another season. Most would have been released.
He's about 25 now and playing at Vero Beach and hit a combined .220. Likely to get released this winter. Looks like an organizational player.
To put his name in a string with Jeter, Garciaparra, et. al., too much for me.
its...Agree with you. Shameless self-promotion.
