Can someone explain how and why such highly recruited and projected players such as the ones that Tulane landed (article below) recently transfer so quickly? These are very highly rated guys outta HS that are already transfering out? What in the world goes wrong so quickly?

BK, these are all transfers IN for Tulane from some other highly rated places. One might anticipate that with a new (2nd year coach at Tulane) they transferred in because of the opportunity for playing time from programs where it was clear they probably would not see much.

Many...many reasons.  No way to tell for an outsider.

Didn't like coach, didn't like school, academic mismatch (both directions), didn't play as much as thought, homesick, misses girlfriend, got into trouble at old school and told to look elsewhere, family crisis, etc..., etc....

Happens all of the time.  Even for highly ranked/recruited players.  And not just in baseball.

And then the trickle-down effect. A bunch of Tulane freshman may decide to leave when they see all these talented transfers coming in to beat them out for a spot. This game is not for the fainthearted.

Each player has attended several colleges before Tulane and the one player Pierce has the same name as the coach.

Always expect competition prepare to win!!!

"throw strikes, hit and then run like a jet"

Our Goodwill Series team to Australia in 2013, 5 players ran the 60 yd in 6.5 seconds and one received $1 million from the Diamondbacks. They all could hit!!!
