turf stains on white pants

It's ground up tires. We deal with it in football all the time. Shout worked for me. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Greased Lightning - you find it in the section with the bathroom tile cleaners.

On a few occasions over the years I've taken the uniform to the do it yourself car wash and power blasted out stains.

I was just thinking this week that about this time of year, a cleaning topic pops up. I have never had to try to get out turf stains. My biggest challenge so far has been brick dust.

We had black stains from this past Saturday. We don't usually have black dirt in this part of the state, so we didn't know what it was. I don't think it was the ground up tires, as it was an older field.

I've been using Shout too - it has been working surprising well. From time to time I'll wash in hot water and a soap called Fels Naptha. (a bar soap) It seems to make the whites brighter without any bleach.

All the white baseball uniform gets "Grease Lightening" then the car wash. Sons coach thought he was kidding- son told coach wait til tomorrow coach I'll be the one in white. He was right too.

I love the car wash idea! Do you just lay them out on the ground and spray away?

I am not a lady but saw the title and had to reply.We got some advice from one of the high school assistants to use cascade.We use the stain remover as a pre treater and then soak in cascade in the washer overnight and wash as you would normally do whites.


I am not sure if we haver actually used it to remove "turf" stains but it has made all other stains disappear and made the pants look new again.

I have used Cascade on white sanitary hose to get out that nasty ring of clay dust - works like a charm. I used to keep a soaking bucket full Cascade on my washer and the boys knew to dump the hose there when they came off... in the garage! Nothing worse than baseball grit on the floor in front of the washer!

I didn't realize anyone wears sanitaries anymore. My son has never worn anything but athletic socks. Wearing his pants down, it doesn't even matter what color.

As for the car wash, whatever works. The few times I've done it I held the uniform at arms length and fired. One person told me he hangs it on the car door. Would having my son run through a car wash after a game work?

No at the car wash you clip them on the mat clips on the wall. It works great. I have used Cascade too, that works wonderful if you have some time.

Not sure about turf stains, but I use ESPRO SPORTS CLEANER on all stains on my son's uniforms. Works great on removing dirt, grass, red clay, field paint, blood and everything else so I would think it would work on turf stains as well. Check it out at www.ESPROclean.com.
