Are there UIL rules on how many hours that high school players can practice?

And do most high school baseball programs hold 2-a-days?

My son's high school swim program ( best in the region) holds 2-a-days as do most of the other High Achieving programs in our school(football, etc.). But our highschool Freshman(JV and Varsity) Baseball program do not. So I'm wondering why?

When I was in HS the Texas UIL ruled that it was illegal to attend any kind of sports instructional camp - even outside of the school year. The penalty was loss of HS athletic eligibility. So that is the mindset of a moronic organization that is more out of touch with the athletics that that they govern than the NCAA - if that’s possible.

Adbono,

I assume that the rules have changed a little, as there are multiple College Baseball camps, during the summer. At least , I sure hope its changed, as I signed my son up for one at Texas State, and plan on trying to attend the Texas A&M camp in August.

Yes, the rules have changed. I was in HS a long time ago. Of the camps that you mentioned I would endorse the Texas State camp over the Texas A&M camp - and I played at A&M. Texas State has a great coaching staff and they actually do recruit from their camps to some extent.
