University of Houston

Probably the biggest downside of UH is the neighborhood. The campus is surrounded by a very rough area. Spend much time on the campus and you will see some rough looking characters cruising through the campus streets.

Academic reputation has been recovering over the past some odd years.

Have heard good things about the baseball program.

I would agree that the area is very tough. Campus looks great however the area around it does not.

It's a very good program. Noble & Blount are honest! check the roster for catcher from Coppell, class of 2006. I think he & his parents will also give you very good insight.

Agreed the school is in an older side of town and yes there are some rough people in the area. I also have been to other schools that look good but still has "rough" people crusing through. That's college life but I know what you mean. Don't let that sway your decision.

Baseball has a good program there and should not be overlooked. If you have an opportunity to get in that program, it should be high on your list to consider in my book.

Our son competed against U of Houston when he played college ball. Coach Noble is a class guy and runs a solid program. His teams play a tough schedule and typically do well in C-USA.
