They have lots of pitching back this year so that bodes well. I would expect them to get back to the top of the WCC this season. I am sure they are setting goals for at least a regional/super regional with the team they have.

Outstanding school and it's hard to beat San Diego. They have a new stadium in the works that should be started come summer. Based on the plans I saw when it is completed it will rival any other schools facilities on the west coast.

I believe they only lost two players to the 2011 draft. The previous year it was 10, maybe 11.
Top nationally ranked program that always does well in the regular season and regularly loses in the regionals. Head coach Rich Hill gets some grief in the college blogs on this and other things but don’t have any personal experience regarding him. He has been there for quite some time so must be doing something right. Staff has a great reputation. My son’s good friend is a freshman RHP there and likes it. As noted they will be very deep in pitching this year. Expensive, but great school and location, and as has a new field going in. Very strong recruiting classes year in and year out. I have been told that they tend to focus recruiting $$ on pitchers.
I attended law school at University of San Diego in the late 1980's and get down there every couple of years. Warningtrack is correct: they just announced the construction of a new 1800 seat stadium with an attached home clubhouse, press box, coaches offices etc (on campus).

Beautiful campus in a great location (close to downtown and beaches...not that a baseball player will get to spend much time at the ocean!). School really making strides and developing academically as admissions standards have risen dramatically since I attended.
