While the game result was not to my liking it was a wonderful evening for baseball.
Both teams played well with timely hitting by the Vols being the difference.
For the Knox area guys, on the ETSU team, it was reunion time. So many family and friends in attendance to watch "their guys." The ETSU fans easily outnumbered the UT fans.
ETSU's early lead and the close nature of the game seemed to "hush" the UT student section.
Aside from the joy I receive in watching my son play, the night had a special bonus ...... 5 hours of time spent with Tom Duke, the infamous OPP!
OPP was able to meet Jolly Roger (who is still a bit under the weather). We discussed many of the websters, you know who you were by the burning sensation that your ears experienced last night!
I received a phone call from HV when his son Wes hit a homerun last night. AND I was honored to speak via phone to Zach Duke for a couple of minutes.
And yes for the record OPP did discuss his ongoing crusade against the 'dillo population of Texas.
All in all a great evening.
