What are Senior League Bats?

Speculation: There is a growing market for equipment for "Senior" BB, like 40 and over and perhaps these are marketed to old dudes like myself.

Actually, a senior league bat is one that is approved for play by most youth organizations, USSSA, Super Series, AAU, etc... they allow the barrel to be up to 2-3/4". They have a bigger barrel than a Little League Approved youth bat.

Little League Baseball is specific in that they only allow the barrel to be up to 2-1/4".

Senior league bats are almost always used by today's travel ball and select clubs.

Both of these bats are only used by youth players... or by weak old men!

those bats are only used in some tourneys when your like 12. Otherwise basically no one uses them

Down here where select/travel ball rules they are used almost exclusively from the ages of 9-13.

Same Here.... but I thnk you will see it up to 14.

Senior league bats have the larger barrel (2 3/4) and a -5 drop. Most manufacturers consider anything more than a -5 drop a youth or little league bat and generally have a smaller barrrel diameter. BESR (high school/collegiate) certified -3.

I rarely see a senior league bat that is only -5. Most are -7 to -9 around here..
