If a scout comes to a showcase tournament for say 2014 players and see's a kid they like what exactly do they do from there. They cant talk to kid or parent and its too early in process to do much so how do they track or follow the kid?
1. do they start a file on him? or all kids in that grad class they like?

If they didnt want to see kids they wouldnt come but how and what do they do from that point on.

I don't have first hand experience, but if I were a coach, I'd certainly have a pretty extensive file on all potential recruits. A 2014 player is extremely young at this stage of the recruiting process, like you said. But I'd venture to say it's safe to assume that if the coach saw something he liked in a player that age, he'd keep the name in a file and make sure to stay on him in the future.

Are you talking pro scouts or a coach? Pro scouts can talk to players. Many of them do begin files on players early to watch their progress, and send recommendations to coaches they have relationships with. But not sure if you mean scout or coach.
Sorry i often say scout when i mean recruiter or coach..I know after games they will talk to the coach about several players who have impressed them. My guess is they will send camp info since that is all they are allowed to do other than talk to the coach. Not sure if they would ever contact a HS coach about a player at this age but i know they ask the travel coach about them.
