(Honest, this isn’t Francis in disguise)

Identical twin athletes. They’re hard to tell part. They're  best friends. They hang together. They practice and work out  together away from their teams. They’re the same size. They play the same position. They’re both all everything at the same high school. They go to the same college. They both start. But one becomes a top pro prospect while the other becomes a fringe pro prospect.

What made them different as pro prospects?

My father was a fraternal twin. My uncle and he were completely different. They didn’t even like each other. The only thing they had in common was being athletes. My father went on to become a college football and baseball player. He was also a high school basketball star. My uncle became a NASCAR driver.

Was it positions they played?  An average shortstop is a great second baseman.  An average speed rightfielder with strong arm is not a good centerfielder.  I have seen All-American second basemen that would have been average shortstops and average to good shortstops that would have been all-american second basemen.  Same could be said for first basemen and third basemen which are many times interchangeable.  A big kid with a strong arm is a third baseman and a big kid with weak arm gets put on first.  They can have same bats but just arm is stronger or weaker.
