Your going to have to start in the minors regardless if your the 1st or last pick in the draft.

Thanks, StarDad. I'll tell him to go try. I think I'll start with the Pac-10.
It's alright, guys. Saw "Star Dad" in another forum asking some pretty legit questions pertaining to baseball. I think he's legit.. sorry, didn't mean to "hoodwink" you, Star Dad. My son's a Pac-10 NLI guy. Welcome aboard HSSBW!

Thanks BUM, Sorry I thought your son is in HS. What's the best baseball school in the PAC-10? I saw the college ranking this year, there's not many ranked high. I did some research and found out USC used to be pretty good. If you want a Ivy-league like degree, Stanford is the best choice. How is the team of Washington St? My plan for my son is go to west coast for his college year
if he is not good enough to be drfated from HS. I would like him to play for the SF Giant as a Pro, nothing particular, just for the nice weather there.
I hate the hot weather here in Missouri, So Arizona will not be a choice for his college year.
Sorry, I forget the Back to back NCAA champion Oregon St. Because I don't have plan for my son to go to that school, thus I always forget about it. Is Oregon rainning everyday?
There are approx. 140,129 Hs/college players eligible for the draft. the odds of being drafted in the first 60 rounds is 2336 to 1.

That's pretty good odds than buying a lottory tickets. Right?
It doesn't take any talent to buy a ticket
Bum, I like your signature: "Believe, plan, do"
I am in deep believe, I have a very detailed plan, and my son is doing it.
Thanks for your nice post.

No, but they always call that "Standford is the Ivy-league school of the West" Which school is the "MIT" of the West? UC-berkeley? I forgot.
Sorry, I should say "Ivy-league like degree". I will edit it.
njbb, there are only 50 rounds in the draft these days. That makes your odds 2803 to 1, and thats not even including jc or 4 year college players.
Sorry That is first 60 picks, I got the number of players from The HSBBW article "odds of being drafted"
Very Odd thread
"he is the Star player in every level he played, I am expecting he be drafted from high school after 4 years"
Stardad,
Well then high school is where the cream rises to the top (if you will). but in the meantime, enjoy your son's high school years, they go very quickly. He needs to keep his grades up and work hard on and off the field. Every scout/college recruiter that ever spoke to us or our son always without a doubt asked about his grades first and foremost. Also, so many things can change from his freshman year to his senior year. As a freshman it's way to early to decide pro or college. Your son can have dreams of becoming a professional baseball player and it needs to be his dream, because on those days that he has been out there playing everyday away from home with only 3 days or less off a month, or he is not feeling well that day and still needs to get out there, it has to come from within him to keep on going.
Good Luck

2004 Missouri had two (2) first rounders:
Scott Elbert (p) LAD
Blake DeWitt (inf) LAD
Peace!

It might surprise you to know San Francisco is the coldest major city in America in the Summer. There is very little rain in Oregon in the Summer.. it'll be 83-85 there and 68 in San Francisco.

I really like the 68 degree weather. If you live in MO, you will know how hot and humid here in the summer. In this summer we got 105 degree with 115 heat index for almost 2 weeks. Man, it was hot.
Couple months and we will have a snow bank you can stick your head in to ccol off.

Sorry, Bobble, not a fan of Canada. US is the best country in this planet. I think everyone will agree with me on this one.
Hey I sent my son to college there. I obviously agree.
Canada has its good points.

WRONG
That a good majority of US citizens can't afford healthcare.
Canada offers so much to visitors, and much more to its countrymen.

Well, Canada spend 0 penny on their military under our protection. That's the money which they spend on their healthcare system. If not for us to keep the world peace, Canada will be the next France in the World War III as our president predicted.
US should Tax Canada for protection fee. IMO
Why I am not a fan of Canada? Because I don't like selfish neighbor.
OS have you seen our tax structure ? We also have a health tax fee for people over a certain income which was introduced a few years ago.
Gains on your personal homes are exempt, lotteries and win falls are exempt but believe me we pay dearly for our health care. The good thing is that eveyone is covered so far. The govt is trying to start charging a minimal fee which many cannot afford.
My view is it should be universal because people will not get help which will only increase the burden on the country.

You are an absolute moron. You keep showing your ignorance. The was a funeral just a 100 yards from here for a Canadian soldier killed in afganistan.
Canadians support thye US in their wars. The last prime minister didn't and he is gone. The new PM is 100% behind the US as are the soldiers. There is an anti war faction who have tried to get us to withdraw our troops because of the mounting death toll but we are there for the long haul.
You don't even use decent grammar as has been pointed out. I am just trying to figure which planet you come from.

How much do you spend on Military? If there's a Russian Invasion in the future, Would you guys cry for help from US. Talk about selfish, I see enough!
BobbleheadDoll:
So far in my count, 4 Canadian soldier dead from friendly fire. That's it. Even that is an accident, and only 4 people losses , you people still got really mad , and threated a pull back years ago. Is that the fact!

Our population is 10% of the US population and we spend accordingly. We definitely do not have the resources that the US does but we do our share.
OS8, you want YOUR health care provided by same folks that handled Katrina?quote:by OS8: a good majority of US citizens can't afford healthcare.
if you think it's expensive now, just wait til it's free
Those 4 were killed by an American pilot and it was an accident. You aren't even close to the number of Canadian soldiers that have been killed so far.
I can't believe I am even talking about this with a moron who is obviously illiterate.

Uh oh.. U.S. vs. Canada. This could get ugly. Better rush the minutemen north. Ok, guys, let's talk:
CANADA
Pros----------------Cons
Plenty of Moose-----The moose are liberals
Free Health Care----Your appointment is in 2017
Beautiful Women-----They prefer each other
Molson Beer---------$2.75 per bottle tax
Cultural Diversity--French Women Don't Shave
C'mon, give Canada a break guys! Without them, our Indian Casinos would go broke!

Well, the Size of Canada is not small. You got all the resources to spend on your healhcare and education but not military. Do never brag your Canadian wealth in front of the US people. That's disrespect to my beloved brothers who fight in the US military.

yea...I would say we've gotten a little off track.
