After all the mid-season euphoria the city is waking up to reality.

They have 3 pitcher's...1 is a head case...1 is pitching over his head and 1 is realizing his ability in the bigs for the 1st time.

Lee ain't hitting like Lee.
Soriano is hurting.
Ramirez is concerned with Ramirez.

They do have a great manager and 2 solid little cajun's!

Bottom Line:

It's NOT gonna happen.

Two months to go and the Cubbies are in contention----
You cannot say the same for the Sox

Interesting---why not wait until the season ends before you SOXNOLE people get on the "other" team---at least thay have a shot---do the SOX ?

Sometimes Soxnole I wonder if you are a true baseball fan---true baseball fans appreciate the teams that do well---

What an unusual occurrence today at Wrigley. Homegrown star pitcher opts to forgo free agency and re-sign with his team for 5 more years at a much lower $$ than what he'd have gotten this fall. How stupid the SF Giants must feel having forked over riduculous $$$ to Barry Zito when a 26 yr old stud signs for far less. I loved when he spoke of his 10 year relationship with Jim Hendry as being a major reason for his wanting to remain a Cub. Omar Minaya would have let Zambrano write his own check for at least 7 years if he'd come to the Mets.

I think this is a very interesting move which may give some credence to Hendry remaining with the new owners. This is an impressive signing, especially under these unusual circumstances. JMO.

Fastball just having a little fun, no hard feelings, we are all smart, smart to set aside time to argue and bicker on what is supposed to be a High School web site, a bunch of dads acting like preschoolers. Why do so many dads spend so much time on here? If you really examine it, it is quite disturbing! I am outta here! oh I am 17 not 47.

Aw hell, Bergen. You started out talking out of your neck and quickly moved down to your a**. Dumbing it down is not a conscious choice for you, my man, it's all you got.

Can you keep track of what you need to do in a game when a guy on the other team hits a line shot that pops you in the head while you're sitting in the dugout in the seventh inning? It shouldn't present much of a challenge because you were probably napping and drooling there since the second.

Are you proposing talking out of the backs of your kneecaps? It's all the same, neck to a** to kneecaps...you're a baiter and a whiner, speaking below the brain and obviously feeling shortchanged about something. Your comments on the Top Tier article in that deleted thread spoke to that fact. You're obviously feeling bitter about something.

Based on the way you've spewed on this site, general tone and all, it wouldn't be difficult for Steve Bort and company to figure out who you are.

Or, who's daddy you are. THAT scenario seems much more likely.

You'ld think every team would get lucky once every hundred years. I guess not. It hasn't happened for the Cubs.

As for Ozzie, he won a world championship, then came back with a 90 win season. I guess every manager that has a losing season should be fired immediately, regardless of his track record. Give me a break. Most of the managers would be fired every year.
