Listen to Baseball Junkie, don't forget about Oak Park, we didn't see Hinsdale this summer, but we showed LT and Glenbard what we can do especially from the pitchers mound with a shutout and a 1-run game in the state tournament
St Charles East and St Charles North will be tough-
East knows how to get the most out of their players and North is laded with talent

oprf has a lot of pop in the lignup but lost their two tope pitchers. i would like to know how u guys did when they werent pitching in conference...central scored 15 off ur junior pitching
red devil. the kid you beat in game three was a senior who had one bad outing all spring. He went on to beat LT the next week.

Watch out for Andrew HS this Spring, they have a good mix of Jrs and Srs with pop at the plate and a few good arms that will keep them in games.
DUCEDOC, I agree that Andrew has a lot of talent returning. I was very impressed with them last year when we played them at the Lincoln Tournament.
ballfan-
we beat him and then we hit the rest of your pitching staff too. you put in like 7 more pitchers after ur starter. we hit everyone.

Rockford Guilford is a decent team with great bats in the line-up im not sure how in depth their pitching is but they can swing it!
Mechesnie Park Harlem(sp) Great team armed with pitchers and they can swing it the got a great lefty who will go FAR in baseball!
Moline A Great team with 6 returning starters they look to do a lot of damage this year hitting the ball and they have a couple of above average pitchers.

Does Wilmington have anything returning beside Dillion Roark? They did have one of the best senior classes ever that graduated. ( 2003 state champs as sophomores, 2004 third place, 2005 state champs). We played them in the quarterfinal game in 2005. Do they have anyone to fall back on behind the legendary graduates?
Sandburg and Oak Forest Are my picks to click in the season of 2006.
Oak Forest provides a complete and dominant pitching staff. With johnson, maziur, norkus, and transfer vacco they prove to have the bats as well. Definately have 4 of the areas best players.
Sandburg- Solid defense, and their bats will be booming. Be prepared to see the longggg ball.

Red Devil...what summer team do you play on?
Hey Red devil how did your swing for the fences, upper cut swinger's, pull every thing hitter's do against an average pitcher Powers ,who threw you guys change up's and his 84 mph fastball away ,and shut out your so called power line up out!!!Last summer.Your team is so selfish, wont go the other way to move runner's, your team will get beat by smart pitcher's. Oak Park will beat you like a drum.
Is it just me or are others having a difficult time making sense of what is being written here?
huskie power, your previous post is ridiculous, arguing during the off season will get you know where. lets wait till we play you during the season. Then lets talk.
Not only does oak forest have promising seniors in the line up and a outstanding pitching staff. The juniors had a great sophmore year racking up wins against big schools such as richards, andrew, lockport,tf south. The won conference and have promising youth. I think there will be one or two suprises in the lineup.
-Ryan Gorney
-Brian Bajer (moved up)
-Mike Ventrella
-John Koz (moved up)
-Robert West as a strong pitcher

Has anyone looked at that prep baseball report
magazine. There are a lot of prospects they left out. Also, Oak Forest with their pitching, and solid core of returning players should be ranked in the top 50. They might even be better than Sandburg.

OF looks good this year and they had a good sophomore group last year. Beat Lockport, Sandburg and other good teams. I wonder though with all the seniors, 14 or 15 coming back and 18 or 20 Juniors coming back from last years sophomore's team how many they will take?
If they lose talent this year will they have as much the next year? I also think that Marist, Br. Rice, Rita and Mt. Carmel will be good teams to watch.

Last year there were two sophomores up on the varsity (Koschnitzky and Bajer) and two freshmen up on the sophomores (Czarnecki and Longawa) so 18-20 juniors coming out this year is a bit high. Some juniors will not come out this year so that will reduce that number making the team.

it’s always nice to get some press, especially when the team/people involved feel that a team deserves a little pr. but the 60 is over, the pbr is out and the first game is about 41 days away.
So at this point, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i think ofhs would rather sneak up to their opponents,,,,,,, heck we’ll probably be lucky to get a run or two if we get a chance to bat…… there is always the away games when we bat first
(notice all the lower caps…… shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

SouthSide,
How would you sneak up on anyone? It seems that your secret is out!
So if you have 18 on the 2005 sophomore team, 2 were freshmen. That still leaves 16 plus, that is a lot of juniors with 14 or 15 seniors. Can't take that many can you?

I could be wrong, but I think you can have 30+ guys on the roster. You just can't have 30+ in the playoffs (25 I think).
My Never Fail/Never Wrong prediction on who's best...
The teams that win their sectionals at the end of the year are, in my opinion, the best. I've used this system before with really good results. Sure, my predictions require all the regular season and regional games be played before I decide but trying to pick before then makes my brain hurt. This method allows me to point to all of my picks and say "Wow, my picks for top teams are really looking good this year" Plus, it makes it really hard for anyone to sharply criticize my picks and hurt my feelings.
I'm thinking of writing a book on this prediction method and targeting sales to all high school players and their parents. It will eliminate a lot of silly March arguements about teams with 0-1 records being called overrated and all washed up.
On the other hand, I could use my old prediction method and just pick Hillcrest to win it all. Sure, it's a long shot but if it were to ever happen, I can point to this post as proof of my genius on HS baseball in Illinois.
Hmmm...I think I'll go with my new method.
