Situation--Kid starts game goes 1/3 inn. has arm trouble removed gives up one earned run.2nd guy goes 3 gives up 1 run last guy 32/3 3 runs final 5-2 never were ahead 2nd guy leaves score is 2-1 who gets the L?
Losses are easy, wins can get tricky unless you are strick on the innings pitched rule.
The loser is the guy who gave up the go ahead run and the pitchers team never ties or goes ahead.
Ex. kid pitches 5 innings gives up 1 run and leaves the game 1 - 0. The next pitcher gives up 10 runs so the score is now 11 - 0. The home team then scores 10 runs so it is now 11 - 10. The starter still gets the loss.
