I'm 14 years old now and I gotta say my swing feels better than ever as well as my pitching confidence. I first started going on this site not too long ago and I gotta say I never woulda thought going on this site as well as beabetterhitter.com and reading articles and posts would help me so much. I hope that more younger players are going to be encouraged to read about baseball because it helps you in so many ways. It feels great that I know how to evaluate myself and how to correct myself. Now I'm going to take this moment to thank the makers of highschool baseball web and all the posters who make this happen. THANK YOU ALL!

TPBulldogs - That sounds really great!

I'll also say that as a parent and youth coach...I am always reading, listening, going to clinics, watching other parents, watching other coaches for all the reasons you stated...to get better at my job as a parent. You can learn a lot from the experiences of others and by watching others who are successful...you just happened to learn that lesson about 15 years younger than me. Stay with it and you're gonna have a lot of fun with all of this. Wink

Congrats...sounds like you have done what every good player should do...and that is to listen to people that know more than you do!
All of us as coaches go to clinics, read books, participate in panel discussions, etc. to improve our knowledge of the game. We don't do it because we don't have confidence in our abilities - we do it because we realize that we can always become better, no matter what experience or background we have.
Continue to listen and you'll undoubtedly become a better player - "Knowledge is Power!"
Bulldog,

It is great to hear you talk like that. Believe it or not sometimes it will take a player or coach an entire lifetime to figure out what you have figured out at 15.

I had a coach tell me a long long time ago....."The day you stop learning in this game whether it be as a coach or player....You need to hang-up your spikes." The great coaches and great players never stop learning!
