Picca is probably 82-86.
Cain is probably 83-88.
Just a guess though!
heard from a reliable source that Joey hit 90+ a couple times this year. His problem apparently is he cant throw for much more than an inning
Another name to add would be Zack Osman, that kid can chunk the baseball up there.

Picca has been 84 to 86 most of the season, topping out at 88.

Paul Petro was throwing his usual gas last night.
Hit 94mph 3 times last night, and that was on the only 3 sliders he threw.
This was on the Jugs gun so it's really probably more like 90mph.
The University of Fullride was there and offered him a scholarship. But from talking to his advisor, I think he's still keeping his options open.
That's great stuff!!!
So am I the only one that pictures an image of Dennis Miller at the SNL news desk while reading KG's posts?
PD, heard the Forney JV ace plays for your summer team?
I know nothing about the kid -- when I think of "California kid", all I can picture is the QB in Remember the Titans. If he is playing on PantherSon's summer team, then.....cool!
What do you think, Beast -- I have inside information?

Taylor Jungmann from Rogers is 90-92 and Dustin Eskew from China Spring is 88-90 played with/against both of them in the summer. Steve Smith was all over Jungmann when we played at Baylor
Where is Rogers located? Near Baylor?
Its near Temple south of Temple i believe......they also have another guy Alan Valenzuela who can hit 90......this may be why they are #1 in 2A???
Sat next to an Atlanta Braves scout at the Keller/Carroll game last Wednesday. Was shown 92 on REID but I thinks most would agree that his money pitch is his "nasty" slider.
As for MERCK..."IF" he was a prospect before the Keller/Colleyville he has been sent into the suspects after the football stunt that cost him an ejection. He really let his team, coaches, parents and himself down. He has some good stuff and hopefully will learn from that experience.

Someone please Pm me on the details....
would have thought this was taken care of between last summer, Mustangs, ect..

The legend and lore of Texas High School Baseball is littered with power arms. Big-league names like Nolan Ryan and Roger Clemens have helped establish the trademark, and each year the next wave of talent further strengthens it. Coming into the 2007 season, the big-time “name” guys have yet to surface. A Ryan Beckett, Scott Kazmir, Homer Bailey type presence has not yet come forward from this group, but the class is as deep with hard throwers as any in recent history. Following is a list of the guys I have either seen myself or heard about from reliable sources as having hit that magic radar gun number of 90 MPH.
Of note: There are a host of pitchers in this class who are hovering just under that 90 MPH mark and are strong pitching prospects. I will formulate a listing of the ones I know, coming soon.
Blake Beavan, RHP, Irving – Oklahoma
Cole Green, RHP, Coppell – Texas
Chris Haney, RHP, Garland Naaman Forest – Dallas Baptist
Zach Neal, RHP, Flower Mound - Sam Houston State
Michael Pair, RHP, TC-Addison – McLennan Community College
Jason Pearce, RHP, Garland Naaman Forest – UT-San Antonio
Ryan Pressley, RHP, American Heritage – Texas Tech
Chase Reid, RHP, Southlake Carroll – Vanderbilt
Stayton Thomas, RHP, Corsicana – Texas
Ryan Turner, RHP, Richland – Arkansas
Brandon Workman, RHP, Bowie - Texas

Uncle Ethan, I think it's Josh Beckett, not Ryan Beckett...
I can add one to the list, he isn't from the DFW area but he's a legitimate top 3 round pick. Drake Britton, LHP, Tomball High School in the Houston area. Has hit as high as 94. Was an Aflac All-American last year.

I saw Carpenter at Highland park Game Saturday he had gun on Dixon sitting 92-93mph and was touching 96 mph. Mustangs will strong with Hill,Reid,Dixon this summer lets not forget Neal.
Walker Kelly was touching 90 both as a fresh and soph. Now as a junior consistenly 89 to 91 topping out at 93. This kid is only going to get better to!

Tyler Spurlin-Woodlands HS, sophomore. Matthew Bean-Kinkaid HS, sophomore. Both played for heat last summer and were consistently 87-89, Bean topped out at 92. Kiefer Nuncio is another sophomore from Katy who gets it up around 86-88.
I heard Flower Mound has a Freshman that has hit 90-92. Big kid...Henderson. He routinely hits 85 to 88.
I can definately agree with the 85-88. Nice curve ball and change-up for a freshman.
Yovanni Gallardo
Fort Worth Trimble Tech
pitched in h.s. at 88-92
touched 94
*Look out Ben Sheets....

Colton Cain- Haven't seen him pitch yet this year but i would imagine he is up there somewhere?
He wasnit anywhere near 90 when we faced him a week before district began. He was throwing 82-86.
And the freshman from Flo-Mo was a great pitcher for a freshman and kept his composure very well when he got into a tough situation. Look forward to hearing about him.

Could have 2 90's throwers tonight battling it out for the district lead. Hamblin(Rowlett) vs Haney(Naaman) at Namaan 7:00. Should be a good one with Rowlett No.2 in area polls. I'll take Haney in this one even though Rowlett is a better team.
Come on Swami make a pick.
Come on Swami make a pick.
Get documenation Clemente21 and I'll add Haney to the list. Should be a good game.
Yovanni Gallardos little brother George pitches for Boswell High School. I imagine he throws in the upper 80's hes a big kid, much bigger than his brother was. Also what about Nick Fleece from Boswell anyone know how hard he is throwing?
My son has hit ninety a few times.

Fleece is high 80's touched 90 a few times...Jorge is mid 80's,
Shane Griffin hit 90 tonight in a Honda Civic leaving the ball field getting away from the tornado.

HAHAHA!!!...Not believable.... he cant fit into a honda civic...
He can get in but has a little trouble getting out.

Did it go over the center field fence?
Naw, he didn't hit 90 this weekend.
Probably 86-88.
Probably 86-88.
I bet when FO's sons hit 90, the pitchers think, "I'd better start throwing a few more strikes or he might just come out here!"
PD
Did you all get Nick T. on the gun at the P.E. / P. game?

No, I was tied up in the booth -- were you hiding out up on the rail? Some thing Nick was removed too soon, but I don't think he was 90.
Clemente21 Just when I think the planets are aligned correctly, Rockwall beats Naaman, and Sachse beats Rowlett and Rockwall. Oh well, just proves how little I know!! I will pick Naaman also. Haney's a Beast! Will you be at the Rockwall game Thursday night at Garland??
Haney and Hamblin both he 90 a few times.
Both kids thru well for the most part.Hamblin made 2 mistakes to the Prince kid. Haney, I can honestly say he hit 90 on the gun when he needed to. He's just not a power pitcher but worked off slider, change up to set up fast ball. Fun kid to watch as is the Hamblin kid. Hamblin hit 93 after Rowlett's catcher was thrown out of the game for not saying nice things to umpire after play at the plate.(kid was out)
Haney 88-90 Topped out at 92 twice
Hamblin 86-90 Topped out at 93 when he was mad as He!!

Jason Peirce(Naaman) will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks with soreness in shoulder area. That's has to be tough in your senior year. Good luck to the kid.
