This site has taken such a dive lately. Train being muzzled has hurt the enire Texas portion of this site.

I just can't believe it is sooooo, slow. Oh well, maybe next year.

Maybe it is that no one has enough credintials to appease the chest thumper, so no one is posting. Nice Job.

Could it be the 3 day weekend? Nah, never stopped anyone before.

I know it's because our IE is not functioning properly and no one can pull the site up. Come on people, where's the dirt, the juice, the rivalry.

Even the back slapping has stopped. What a sad say in HSBBW.

I figured it out......these people really do have jobs.
With all the baseball that happened in such a short time I think a lot of people got a little burned out and some actually do have to work. But I have an idea....

Let's recruit some posters from other states to help generate some action or maybe we could get some foreign exchange students to transfer from Japan so they can help us understand how to through the Gyro ro whatever it is called...

That way we can talk about recruiting and transferring without get people all up in arms.

Or maybe some dads and moms out there can tell us about what kind of recruiting letters they are getting for there very talented 08's. That way the chest thumper couldn't knock what they are saying....well maybe.

Like I said before.........hopefully by the time Gage gets older and in fact he does enjoy baseball, I hope I can come here to gather all the useful information one might need to guide him through the trials and tribulations of his young baseball career. Roll Eyes

It was interesting for those of you who enjoy lists. KG, I am sure you will want to see it since you are a big fan of "lists" ....

http://www.pgcrosschecker.com/2007/whoshot/whoshot_3

I checked it out from 2009's parent point of view, only 7 listed which will change over the summer. But of the 7 kids listed 5 of them were pitchers over 6'2 and 200 lbs, all throwing at least 88 if not confirmed in the 90's by PG Staff.

That confirms at least goal Meat needs to get to over the summer.

I don't have enough baseball knowledge or experience to speak to you about baseball, but I do have enough vocabulary knowledge to know that you meant to say "content" rather than "context". Smile

UE - I think I'm going to award you with a purple pen. Big Grin
D - Absolutely, personal experiences are rated highly. Remember to embellish and expand on each scenario. Also, be sure to apply various literary elements to show your individual writing skills. Finally, omit all profanity. That's a major deduction, as are run-ons, fragments, and the words a and lot spelled alot. Big Grin

I'm afraid I do.........

Many years of being around more crazy parents. Mad

However, many years of being around baseball have not yet qualified any of us to have a legitimate opinion. KG, that sounds like it just might be a double standard. Big Grin

They don't listen to dad even if you played pro ball. Hell Joe Montana hired coaches to give his kid football instrcution because he wouldn't listen to a Hall of Fame QB.

Hopefully my son takes up golf. Or maybe he will fish the Bassmasters tournament trail.

If he does do the baseball thing, we won't be paying for lessons.

Never had a lesson in my life regards,

context (n)
setting, background, circumstances, situation, framework, milieu, environment, perspective

Stick you thinking you understand baseball. Wink

I believe that would be "bullpen catcher" slang.
Unless you have actually spent countless hours catching in the bullpen, and expanding your midsection on the $87.00/day in big league meal money there would be no way for you or any of us to understand or translate.

In short, context means situation/setting/location.

Based on the context, the word "bs," means "not legit content," so finding "legit content" would be the correct usage.

As for your last sentence, "Stick you thinking you understand baseball." It's just grammatically incorrect and poorly written.

No, actually "bs" means..........well....."bs".

As far as my fragmented sentence, that is directly due to my limited brain cells diminishing. Seems I cannot digest the amount of knowledge put forth and retain so much valueble information.

Silly you...only the less informed think that meal money is actually spent on meals.

You see, the $25 tip to the clubhouse attendant will cover your meals that they provide.

The other $62 goes to the refreshing beverages usually consumed after game time.

Sleeping in till noon was nice regards,

Just thought of something............

In regards to those who assume that the "Roll Call" thread directly insulted the ability or experience needed to comment on baseball issues is amusing.

As I challenge anyone to find or quote anything that I have directly written that suggests this.

Or, you might find your time better spent worrying about who transfered where, a top 50 list, or whose throwing 90mph.

Guilty conscience regards,

Gut
Ken - please clarify your intent with the Roll Call thread if it wasn't to provoke controversy. Also, what would you suggest we discuss on a baseball message board but baseball news? With your baseball knowledge, why not begin a discussion that might benefit HS players and their parents? I challenge you to open a topic -- on any subject -- that can include intelligent conversation without demeaning the participants. Since you support the idea that many of the topics here are garbage --- why not start one that you deem worthy?

I don't feel guilty of discussing any of the three topics you list here.....because....it's just a message board! If you see no benefit, then please point out the harm. It's a community that you choose to participate in --- for what purpose, I'm not quite sure.

I'd rather see you contribute out of the depth of your experience than hang out simply to make others feel stupid, intentionally or otherwise. Most people with any degree of sensitivity know when their views offend ---- and it seems obvious that being offensive is your goal. I'm ok with that -- I don't go overboard in trying to uncover identities here, but I do ok in recognizing motive. Your identity isn't hidden....and your motives seem relatively clear.

On the other side of the coin, I'm thankful for the multitude of personality here. Smile
