More of what's wrong with big-time college athletics. But when you think about it, this is the way the world works, just not the pretty picture that most of us would prefer. Excerpt, Spanier says one thing and means another:

"The incident prompted Mr. Spanier to visit Dr. Triponey at her home. Dr. Triponey confirms he told her that Mr. Paterno had given him an ultimatum: Fire her, or Mr. Paterno would stop fund-raising for the school. She says Mr. Spanier told her that if forced to choose, he would choose her over the coach—but that he did not want to have to make that choice."

Certainly, this doesn't shed Paterno in a positive manner. Where will this mess end?
Do you guys read the comments of stories like this? It's truly amazing how some people just don't get it. There is nothing positive in this article for Paterno or Penn State but they are twisting it to make him out to be a victim in this matter. Paterno created this atmosphere which turned into a mess.

I'm sorry but cleaning up the stadium after games doens't seem like punishment for criminal assault.....even if the guy did start it earlier.
