been to the Kernals tournament in Cedar Rapids.These are the most prestigus shows in the country IMO.

East Cobb Edges Diamond Vision Elite 2-1

East Cobb Baseball edged Diamond Vision Elite 2-1 in the featured 8:15 pm game at Roger Dean Stadium Thursday night. The defensive battle was played in front of an incredible crowd of scouts and coaches that stayed until the final out.

RHP's Brad Gero (4 innings) and Alex Gonzalez (3 innings) for Diamond Vision and John Magliozzi (5 innings) and Brady Anderson (2 innings) for East Cobb all had prospect stuff and commanded it well. They were supported by numerous outstanding defensive plays by their teammates.

None was better than the diving catch deep in centerfield by East Cobb CF Chavez Clarke off a shot by Diamond Vision EH Tyler Kendall's bat leading off the 5th inning. If that catch happens in the Yankees/Angels game tonight in front of a national audience, it's a ESPN Play of the Day.

East Cobb shortstop Tyler Greene and left fielder Andrew Toles were also impressive on defense.

The top Diamond Vision Elite play of the game was a throw from CF Adrian Talton and tag by C Peyton Walsh on a sliding Clarke to end the top of the 7th inning. Third baseman Scooter Price made numerous fine plays, especially charging the ball, earlier in the game.

Magliozzi, a 2011 prospect from Massachusets, got the win with 5 shutout innings. He was 88-92 mph on his fastball, threw a very nice change up with life and kept the Elite hitters off balance with a big, slow 70 mph curveball.

It's been a pleasure to be able to meet so many posters in person the last couple of days.

Also, I had a primo view of what's probably the play of the tourney thus far. 4-3 game, 2 outs, bottom of 7th, man on third -- straight steal of home (Jackie Robinson style) to tie it up. My view from first base coach's box was really exciting. Never seen that before in person!

Congrats to Landon Hallam of Oklahoma for the theft of the tourney!

I think that you should just post a link to the blog. Use the URL box at the top of the message area of the reply window. If it's information that requires a subscription, then it's better that you not copy it.

That is correct. Your license to access that content from PG does not permit you to reproduce it and display it here. The links won't work unless you subscribe to Crosschecker.

I used to enjoy reading the daily blogs of the events at Jupiter, now it's paid content so they links won't work for us.

It is not illegal or against the law to copy or paste anything from paid content, just a courtesy.

I am talking blog here. Not MLB footage.

I have seen many things copied and pasted everywhere all over the internet, from free and paid content.

If information is paid for only content I was under the impression it was taboo to post it without permission. Maybe I am mistaken?

I recently had a discussion with an attorney regarding copyright infringement, what is and what is not allowed. My understanding is that it is very complicated.
A lot has to do with intent, and I do not think that the poster had ill intent in cutting and pasting the blog.

Fine. I have no dog in the fight. But if Perfect Game is charging for the information and someone paying for it in turn is posting it for non paying viewers to see that sounds like infringement to me.

I am sure the poster meant no harm and was just trying to share information.

Just a followup: I edited the blog copy-and-paste post above, removing most of the copyrighted content. I'm going to ask PGStaff (Jerry) about it, but I expect that we cannot post the subscription-only content here.

I did not say that it was appropriate, and I doubt that the poster realized what he was doing may not be appropriate. PG does have no portion may be reprinted or reproduced without their consent so that does make it illegal to do so. Watch out folks, don't ever copy anything you have paid for your own personal use!

Intent is not a requirement to sue for copy law infringement. You seem to be confusing this with fraud where intent is a requirement.
Simply put a company like PG who has put the work in has a right to be compensated for that work. To copy it and disseminate it without permission is an infringement of that right under copyright law.

Just curious about any word about Team Elite form Georgia...half of my son's HS team is on that team and over the years I had the chance to coach a few of them. Gotta a feeling they will do very well down in Fla.

BTW, you should read the article in BA, kind of goes with the same philosophy that those in college wanting to play professionally, getting seen and especially getting seen with wood in your hands.

Why would that interest me? Our colleges play with wood. I have seen the difference when they play with metal bats.
For those who want to play professional they should do what they have to do. There are many who have no ambitions like my son beyond college BB.
I only go to a MLB when someone sends me tickets and not always then either. I even turned down a chance to sit in a box with hall of famer Fergie Jenkins a few weeks ago. I did go to one game and had great seats (free). The game was so bad I wanted a refund.

TPM, I realize that it was inadvertant and that there was no ill intent. As a supporter of both PG and HSBBW, I simply thought it appropriate to point out the problem to discourage future similar posts.

Please don't feel badly about posting that stuff. It is copyrighted, but I'm sure you were only trying to help. It's not that big of a deal.

Also, just so people know, the reason we do all those blogs is because our pgcrosschecker subscribers requested it. We have 6 computers hopping down here in Jupiter with blog writers who are having trouble keeping up with everything. I'm only trying to say that it is somewhat expensive and takes some effort to do those blogs. And it's not just the writing part.

I'm fairly good at figuring out who means no harm and who does mean harm. I feel pretty sure that "tricks15" meant no harm.

Got to get back to the tournament, we are in the playoffs. So far, it's been great. Lots of big upsets!

I actually pitched in the tourney yesterday. There were scouts lined up in golf carts all the way down both foul lines and probably 50 behind home plate. They weren't there to see me but I got great exposure. walked 1st batter on full count-tried to overthrow, pop up to center, then 5 straight k's. Anyone who s kid has a chance to do this-GO!

As far as the BA article, I thought somethings made great sense, especially the correlation between showcases and job interviews. It kind of went hand in had with the other discussion regarding the importance of summer college leagues, which also is where a player gets to showcase his skills.

I realize that you might have some issues with some things written, that was not my point of it being a good article.

Who did you play for? My son pitched yesterday morning and had a great time. He said it was unreal how many scouts were there for an 8 am game.

Sounds like the door to your future was slightly open and you showed up and kicked it all the way open. Congrats on the showing and hope it does lead to some offers. Keep us posted as to how it goes.

Thanks everyone. i played in the 3:00 game for the All American Prospects against MSL. They hit our other 3 pitchers pretty good and they are all big RHP who throw high 80's, Low 90. I have been doing that all summer and still don't have an offer. It's not the grades and I'm 6'0,190, LHP. The biggest thing is I only top out at 87 and throw mostly 82-84. But you know what they say-It all works out in the long run!! just have to be in the right place at the right time
