My is rather simple "I Love Baseball" - just shortened.

Even simpler, theygrowupfast.....and they do!

I am a fan from florida...

I coach a high school team named Trojans and my assistant coaches like to call me Skip or Skipper... there you have it.

capt is short for captian and lid is what my cousin called me as a kid. He still does! Its a shortened version of my first name.

Have had it for 12 years and counting as part of my email address.

The captian is from being picked up to be the captian of our floor hockey team three years in junior high.

Mine, YHF, are the initials of one of my favorite albums...Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco. My "location" 'poor places' is the name of my favorite song on that album.

P.S. my quote in the signature area was an attempt at humor that apparently only one other person got. Some poster here has a quote by Plato in their signature line. So of course I put a quote from the Meat Puppets song "Plateau" here, as a play on words. Well, at least I thought it was funny.

i think mines pretty simple,since i play outfield and and can play left,center and right during highschool and tournament team/metro

oh yeah 30 is my favorite number originating from my fav player ken griffey jr.

Mine's also easy. Given a choice, my son has always picked number 11. Thus: no11 (but he doesn't always get a choice, and that's ok too.)

Coach HS - Last name May - easy one

Well, being a catcher, I put catch in front and then my number after. But I actually wear the number 4 now, I would like to change my screenname to catch4- does anyone know how?

I was teaching a unit on the Krakatoa eruption of 1883 when I joined up back when.....so I decided to use it as a screen name.

Coach - I am a high school coach

27 - was my jersey number when I played in college

09 - 9 was my jersey number in high school and a tribute to Benito Santiago when he was good. I thought he was the best catcher ever when I was in high school. He wore #9 but switched to #09 because the chest protector strap covered up the single 9. I couldn't get my high school coach to go along with that so I added the 0 when I started getting on the internet.

CP are my initials, Chip Porter, LZ are the initials of the town I reside in, Lake Zurich.

JT...my initials...which is what the ballplayers at the last college I worked at called me. I was shocked it was available when I joined Jan 15, 2003.

My son's high school are the Eagles.

Spizzle is my son's nickname... I'm his pop.

Family of 4 boys who all play baseball. Seems we are on a field every weekend. So we are a BBFAM.

Honest to goodness, I can't recall exactly why or how I chose "Prepster." I suppose it had something to do with the fact that Robert was about 14 years old, and I imagined that my participation would have something to do with "prep" baseball.

Meanwhile, I'm especially pleased that Fungo clarified the background to his screenname (I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I've been around here long enough to remember the "RU4Fungo" handle.). His clarification eliminates my former speculation that his screenname was somehow strangely derived from the root word: F-U-N-G-U-S!!

My younger son was an LHP/OF in high school when I signed up in 1999.

80 is the year I graduated. PATRIOT is my high school mascot/nickname. It originally started on a local HS football site.

A not so young baseball rat who has/had a knack for the longball since a very early age, and the # 8 from the YAZ, a Polish slugger from my youth and the # worn by me and all my kids, until now.

I don't remember how I got my screen name. I was born at a very early age!

About 7-8 years ago Darrin Nelson's (former Stanford and Minnesota Viking running back) son was on my baseball team and his email address was "justbaseball@***.net." Son of an NFL football player with an email like that?

I thought that was pretty cool, so I used it.

BTW, Darrin has remained a casual friend ever since and he's a really great guy. His son was one of my favorite players ever. His older son went on to start for 3 years as a DB for the Oregon Ducks.

My baseball career ended at 12 or 13, and the only glove I owned until fatherhood was a early '50s glove with a thumb and 3 fingers. That was the style then.
My youngest sometimes used it successfully in games, although today's gloves are clearly easier to catch with.

I used to keep my mouth shut and just read.

Went to my first MLB game (Seattle Pilots) in 1969. My dad and his friend thought it was funny to get the kid to scream "Hey, you Bum!" at the umpire the whole 9 innings and I always remembered that.

Mine isn't particularly original. My name is Bill and the other names I wanted were already taken. I didn't want to steal a variation of one of the names because I thought it might be confusing, and Bill was too generic.

I recalled that when I played basketball with my brothers if one of them was open and wanted me to pass them the ball they'd shout 'BillBill'.

High School is the Bulldogs. I wore 19 junior and senior year. (Before that there was not a 19 in any of the uniforms!!)

19 comes from February 17 being my birthday 2+17=19

Oh, and I used to really like Tom Paganozzi who caught for the Cardinals for awhile

Oldest just graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He's now ofcrKID, and is a Logistics Officer at MacDill AFB in Tampa, and playing MiLB for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The baby is a Midshipman (2nd year or Youngster as they're called, or cadKID#2) at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. He is their starting SS.

I would like to thank all of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping pay for their college education. They will not let you down...
